Oh gosh, I can barely think where to start. I really ought to be going to bed soon.

I'll try and get round to some pics and stuff tomorrow. In the meantime, I have to rave about these guys:

http://www.fietsorkest.nl/en_bfo.html

Absolutely amazing. 6 guys on a 6 seater tandem. That's impressive enough. All playing musical instruments while they ride - even the pilot has a high hat cymbal operated with a spare brake lever. And he's a damn good rider. Riding at walking pace through crowds!

And then, when they stop, they perform a brilliant deadpan slapstick comedy routine, still playing, doing stuff like marching but in different directions, treading on each other's feet, general clowning. There's a vid on the website, but it doesn't do them justice. I'll upload some of mine this week. Everyone who saw them loved them. Some of us are wondering if we could book them for something, anything, I'd organise a party just for the excuse to have them there!

There'll be a Velo Vision report up soon, no doubt.

Main impressions are Velomobiles, loads of them. Recumbents, more than you could count. So many lovely, shiny things. Not a dull roadbike or MTB in sight. A fair wodge of carbon, and a lot of fibreglass in fairings.

So amazing to be at a trade show, and not to feel 'odd' about being a recumbent owner.

In fact, not being odd being a cyclist. We bunked off for lunch on Sunday, went a mile along the Rhine, to a cafe/bar, for bratwurst and chips and a beer (a Radler for me). There were dozens of bikes locked up while the riders ate, and dozens of people rode past as we sat there.

The more I see of Europe, the more I want to emigrate.

They are brilliant. I notice from their calendar they are in Veghel in NL the day I ride through Eindhoven. I might detour to catch them?????

I would move to the continent in a flash.

He he, I like that!

As for moving to the continent, except for here, about the only place I have ever felt where I belonged and not just another Tourist was, oddly enough, Poland.

Heck only knows why, although I was driving steam trains at the time, so that might have helped! (although a Polish woman I was working with up until about a month ago found that bit terribly funny, so obviously I was just another tourist after all).

Ah - nice brew. I'm off for a pedal after lunch

This morning a chappie came round and "serviced" our boiler. 84% efficiency and CO:CO2 ratio about 30x lower than required. Boiler is at least 24 years old and hasn't been serviced for about 10 years. I like old technology

It's quiet at my neighbour's building works today (thank goodness). I think they are waiting for the concrete to be poured into the footings.

Oh - I'll leave this packet here for anyone who fancies a bikky or two. And there are no web cams this time

If the hens have anything to do with it, most certainly. Woe betide the poor amphibian they spot hiding in some nook or cranny in the garden: devoured. Hens will eat just about anything given the chance.
