Well, the bags are packed, the leftover chinese takeway and milkless tea (ran out last night) have been consumed, I'm pretty much ready to go.

Way too early. Aiming to be 50 miles away about 6pm. Even allowing for dawdling and detours, I don't need to set out for an hour or more.

Which gives me an hour to fret/remember things I really must take, despite having no more room in my bags...

Have a pleasant and uneventful journey! And enjoy!

I was very busy yesterday evening - watched the Giro hihglights, had a bath, watched Wallender (in Swedish with subtitles).

I know how to lead an exciting life. Well, I might know how to, but decided that I prefer a nice quiet life.

Oh dear...

*replete*
*stuffed*

As WCMnr came to visit the old folks today, I did a full roast dinner, as he does like his roast dinners...

Chicken (free-range) with with a stuffing of cous-cous, lemon, apricots, courgette, garlic, black pepper... roasted on a bed of carrots, celery & onions. It was these veg + meat juices that made the gravy.

Jersey Royals in butter and mint picked from the garden
Baby roast potatoes (roasted in their skins)
Roasted butternut squash
carrots
green beans
broccoli

The Men had the full works but I didn't have potaotes or the stuffing, so my halo gleams.

Fresh strawberries for dessert.

It was rather scrummy.

The excess veg has been made into a soup - which is also rather scrummy.
