Cone spanners???? We're going to Saffron Walden, not crossing the Andes by frog. Bring a multi-tool, tubes and levers.
It's an Iron Law of rides that you only ever need one tool. The one tool you didn't bring.

Ta for the tip. Although our catering option at 4am is likely to be a couple of stoves in a car park overlooking (assuming it was light enough to see it) the Hole of Horcum. So I think cappucino is out. I have teabags.

I wouldn't dream of buying an energy gel. I have chocolate raisins, and Jaffa Cakes.

and now, I must make a move...

Night/Morning all!

I'm back!

82 miles in all, several long uphill drags and a few downhill swoops, including Blue Bank, a road so steep it has soft sand escape lands for vehicles with failing brakes...

Tea!

Takeaway eaten, first cuppa didn't touch the sides. Gonna make another and take it to bed, to watch Strictly, and probably snooze...

Mornings!!

Off to the station to meet up with Tdr1nka, then up to Fairlands to do a ride with Chuffy and Baggy (and about 300 others...)
Tea and cakes may well be involved. And bacon

Arch will definitely need a lie down! After seeing Mat in breeches and knee length boots!!! :hyper:

<Swoon>

I've just been to look round our new Waitrose. Very nice, but I'll be sticking to Sainsburys for the regular groceries, having cross-checked a few prices. Got some reduced sushi for lunch though.

Not hungry then Arch? Being a "pig" I always go for the large sizes

My Mrs goes to Waitrose. I always say she should use the Co-op more (as I'm also a "thrifty" chap).

Tea anyone?

Oh, yes please to tea...

The sushi was alright, but actually, I think I prefer the M and S stuff I usually have. I suspect the Waitrose stuff is more authentic, so maybe it's just a case of what I'm used to.

I've swapped my summer and winter bikes today, to have the dynamo lighting. Also, my summer hack seems to have a rear wheel p***t**e. It needs a rest, and a service.

I know how it feels....
