Yes, the teensy bit I saw looked a bit wishy washy, not like "The Conversation" or "Narrow Margin" (Gene Hackman and trains  ).

I will have another go with the recording tomorrow later today.

Morning

Tea and toast is up, I am a wee bit tired after staying up til 2am reading my book.

Mid-week weigh in was good though, another 2lbs lost so that is 6lbs for the year now, must be all those doughnuts I'm avoiding

I was sitting there at work this afternoon, minding my own business, when a word came into my head, and wouldn't go away.

Chips.

Yum. Not a huge portion, and only one sausage, so not all that fattening really. My first cup of tea didn't touch the sides, so I'm just going to put the kettle on again.

Today, amongst other activities, I decided to investigate the bottom of the compost bin. This tells you what an exciting life I lead.

There is a little hatch to give access to the stuff at the base. Some of it has composted very well, some not at all. But there is a lot of well-composted stuff to dig into the borders. I have scattered the "new" compost over a bare patch of ground. I presume I can put the semi-composted bits back into the bin. Then stir it up a bit. It is not as messy as I expected it to be, quite dry really, when I expected it to be sludgey and very mucky. Not smelly either. But I have not been putting food in, apart from leaves from cauliflower and pea pods. Surprisingly my peanut shells have not composted.

My clothes feel a lot looser as a result of losing wieght. I am going to have to put the sewing machine to good use, and take in the seams on some trousers.

I think I have lost nearly a stone since the beginning of November. If you take out two weeks for Christmas, that is a stone in three months. Slow but steady I guess.

Well done! I took a year to lose a stone!

It's funny what won't compost. Eggshells are supposed to, but don't. Well, I guess they would eventually, but since eggshells (and hazelnut shells) are even found in archaeological deposits, it can take some time, depending on your soil.

Changing the subject completely.. Velo Vision used to do a Recycling Calendar, I think. Have you by any chance still got one from 2005? It would be accurate for this year, no need to wait sixteen years or thereabouts.

I keep my calendars, for the lovely pictures, and for a supply of large pieces of glossy paper. Now I will be able to reuse one of my old calendars. If you have more than one, could you let me know please. The volunteer co-ordinator is a cyclist as well as a keen gardener, and recycler.

The messy bit with the compost will be when I empty the dustbin that I started using as a compost bin. That might well be a gloopy mess, but could be added gradually to the compost bin if it is very wet, I suppose.

Hmm, I don't have one myself, there might be one at the office. I think Pete tried to shift them all cheap at the York Rally...

I'll try and remember to look next week.

Cycling home at 10pm I must pass 6 take-away/chippy's and I immediately feel hungry due to the delightful smells wafting about

I have managed to resist so far.

Sounds like you've had an exciting day Speicher

Yes, I did all sorts of other exciting things, laundry and some ironing, recycling, talking to one of my neighbours, tidying up, watching Eggheads, not to mention having a shower. I do not know how I contain my excitement some days.

Did you have time in your busy schedule to drink any tea?
