Can you not get Martin to bike you over a pair of his leg warmers?

Well the sun is out again in Mancland, but I'll still be in my fleecey tights today, don't want my delicate little legs getting cold

I have to go to see the Consultant this afternoon, about my damaged bent finger. Tea will be required on my return. Why are hospitals so warm? This is not wards, but clinics, with people as Out-patients. Also the type of lighting they have (flourescent ?) seems to make my eyes go blurry. Parking? Could I borrow a Tardis?

How the Medical staff cope in the heat, the artificial light, and very little daylight, is beyond me.

Just to add to the confusion, Level One is at ground level, and Level Two is the first floor.

I needed a very strong drink when I got back home. But I think I made it much strongerer than I nintended to. It was exschellent tho and jush what I neeeded. I did think that it was supposed to take five measures rather than three measures.

How strong do you like your Hot Chocolate?

Like my men, strong, and milky... No, that doesn't sound right...

So how did you get on at the finger clinic? Did you get the thumbs up?

(sorry!)

It was the Hand Clinic, Arch. No I did not get the thumbs up. ;)

I have been referred (urgently, according to the Consultant) for Physiotherapy. Then in seven weeks, see the Consultant again to see if it needs operating on. The finger does not bend very well. That sounds minor, but if I try to grip anything with my left hand, the immobility of my finger, the one to the left of the middle finger, does not bend when the middle finger bends. This means picking anything with just two fingers and a thumb. It is also very tender to the touch, feels like it has been badly burnt. Holding a fork is not easy.

I can type, as that does not need any strength, but cannot type for long. I am pleased that it does not diminish my ability to eat cake or biskits.

I think on the subject of Men and Chocolate, and how you like them, the oft said phrase, is "strong, dark and rich".
I agree that strong and sweet is better. The whipped cream being an optional extra. ;)

Let's face it, "available in bars" might be another comparison... ;)

Let's leave that one there....

Sorry to hear the finger is giving you trouble still, I can imagine it's very annoying - it's bad enough when you just have a plaster on a cut, and the whole finger seems to get in the way.

I've had chips for tea! Need more tea now.

Yes please! What are you going to see?

Appropriately for this thread, A Dish of Tea with Dr Johnson. Maybe they didn't drink out of cups in his time?? If you can make it down to the Uni for 7.30pm you're welcome to join me. John and Cathy might be coming.

Oh, cheers, but I've got stuff to do... I hope you enjoy it.

Yeah, I could cope with a dish of tea - like those big bowls the French drink hot chocolate out of. Oh, heck, we're back to chocolate again...
