Doughnut Wednesday here!

I have damaged my poorly finger again. Not when doing gardening as you might expect. I was very careful. The consultant had said to put the splint back on, if I was doing anything violent.

I caused the damaged when I was putting on clean socks after my shower. I never knew socks could be violent.
It is now every bit as worse as when I first dropped the ladder on it.

Potsy... I think I can remember ...... that smilies are called...........smilies.

Spent the morning playing with the Ratrike.

I have now given lent it the lights, reflector and mud guards from the Marin. I needed something for them to mount to as they are all seat post mountings and the KMX doesn't have one of those.

So, with a bit of domestic scavenging, I found the remains of an old useless clothes rack for some telescopic tubing. I bolted a length of tube behind the seat to allow the rear mudguard and reflector to mount on it over the back wheel. The chrome telescopic tube then went in the top with the front and rear lights on it. I can now have high level lighting in lieu of, or maybe as well as, a flag.

I still need front mud guards and for lack of anything vaguely mudguard shaped I have laminated some strips of hard board around the front tyres to get the shape. I know hardboard isn't very water resistant but a good coat of paint would do for now and I very rarely go out in the moist never mind the wet.
I just need to find some supports for them now but the scrap yard on the way to work was out of bounds due to a large lorry unloading.

I'll upload some photos later.

Right, time for a cuppa to take into the staff development session.

I like the sound of Wagon Wheel Wednesday. Where do I sign?

It's the common version of Speichers' doughnut day, I will save you one to have with a cuppa

Are you sure you weren't using that finger to hold your doughnuts Speich? No wonder it's hurting holding all that weight

No, it was not the doughnut. It is however, much more uncomfortable than it was. I am going to watch the cycling shortly. Stitting down comfortably on the sofa with Tea, is very good for people with hurty fingers.

Can anyone guess what is on this Friday, sports-wise, that I will be watching? It is an unusual sport, that is often axed from the tv schedules?

Oh yes, if you think you know it, try to think of a suitable clue that will keep everyone else guessing. ;)

Cool, it's getting rattier and rattier! A bike (or trike) isn't right without a bit of unusual fettling.

I should commission you to do me some nice laminated wood front guards for my trike - I'm tiring of the diseased leopard look after a ride on wet roads.

Sorry to hear about the finger Speich, I hope you haven't damaged it too badly. Those socks are tricky blighters. On the upside, you'll make an amusing accident statistic.

Felt like a long day today, dunno why, well, I do, we finished half an hour late, the sorting this morning took ages,
etc etc. Still, the reserve volunteers found some nice lengths of really chunky copper cored cable dumped in a hedge, which we'll strip and add to our scrap pile to weigh in for cash. They also found a pristine Claud Butler MTB, which looks like it's been nicked and either dumped, or stashed for the thief to come back for. He'll be disappointed if he does, it's in the lockup now, reported to the police and the volunteers are all hoping it never gets claimed. We may have to actually sell this one, as opposed to give it to the first asker....

I have no idea, but assume it involves men in lycra
rolleyes.gif

No, it doesn't, although they might be wearing shorts.

 I watched the last thirty km or so of the Paris Nice, then some of the Team time trial of the Tireno Adratico. Must have fallen asleep, and when I woke up there was more men in lycra. Except it was not very much lycra, a diving competition. Seems that the French team have a Rugby player by mistake in their team.

Ooh sorry to hear about the finger Speicher. Hope it sorts itself out pronto  .

Today I bought my onion sets and planted them. Yippee for gardening. Then I continued construction my cold frame. Another session should see it complete (well OK with T breaks - 2 sessions or so  ).

Meanwhile I've had some apple pie  and Mrs 26x25 was asking why the Nutella was out on the counter top. I have no idea about the latter

Any donuts left Speicher?
