Cor, I'm gagging for a tea. Have just been out for a quick spin (don't fret potsy, only 15 miles!) and now have to go and pick Chuffy up from the Audax finish.

In other, boring news, as it's still a fabulous drying day was hoping to stick on some more laundry, but the washer on our outdoor tap appears to have given way so have had to switch the outhouse water off to avoid a flood

Now, would telescopic stilettos work? I suppose they'd convert to kitten heels, not flatties.

In a fit of being hideously modern, I've just managed a temporary fix by wrestling off the tap and managing to cap it off I'm amazed a) we actually had a spare end cap b) that it was the correct size c)that it was at the top of the toolbox d) I managed to get it on without snapping any pipes etc.
The washer is back on!

Give it 5 mins and the pressure will probably fire the end cap off through the conservatory windows...

What about an inflatable sole? High heel / platform / flat.

You'd have to be careful not to puncture when you crossed your legs!

I have fitted my Aldi torches to Granville so he now has proper working lights.

The torches came in one black and two silver so I did my usual trick of gluing a bit of old red tail light lense to the black torch to make a rear light.

The rear light cable tied nicely to a suitably shaped bit of curved metal under the seat.

The silver torches cable tied to the bottom of the bars to make twin headlights.

Granville is turning out to be a really nice bike to ride so I think well worth a bit of TLC and looking after along with some stealthy improvements.

Poundland quite often have 9 LED torches at, yes, a pound. No batteries though.

Hmmm, the Aldi ones are £4.99 so £1 per torch and £1.99 for the 9 AAA batteries. Seems a fair deal.

I'm sure one could design a cycling shoe with a retractable / folding stiletto.
That wouldn't look daft at all.

Where would you put the SPD? Under the ball of the foot or high up in the Arch just in front of the stilletto? That would be about right for the conventional cycling position of people in stilletos I guess. It would also mean that the SPD wouldn't be a problem to walk with.

It says there that Granville is a cool bike!

And potentially worth a bit more then the £13.50 I paid for him. Does that mean I shouldn't scrape off all the stickers and badges and spray him a nice stealthy satin black? I have, at least, kept the saddle and pedals when I up graded.
