Still awake but on my second/third wind, which is good as I still need to have a bath, hoover, have tea and wait for the dog's food to defrost enough for me to divvy it up into smaller portions and refreeze it.

Life would have been so much easier if I'd been with it enough to do most of that earlier.

On another note, I've been asked to lead next week's ride as S is ill and will probably be off the bike for a while. I think I'll be spending a good part of next week on test rides.

Judging by the strange(r than usual) looks aimed in my direction when I was walking the dog this afternoon, I think the residents of my local village would agree with your assessment of the weather. Honestly, what's wrong with wearing shorts, t-shirt and sandals in October?

Up till last week I would have said nothing as the temp was in the 20's but when it drops from that to 8 degrees overnight
