Did that 112 mile Flat out in Fens sportive from Peterborough a couple of years ago, and its bloody hard work riding over there. No hills to go down, you have to keep pedalling or you stop and the cross winds are hard work.
Used to live just outside of Stamford, in Wittering but didn't cycle much then.

Stamford used to be my stomping ground & sometimes Peterborough too.

Enjoyed going to watch the Posh as I didn't go home much, even if they were dire at times.

You've lost me there pal, although I never was any good at algebraic solutions or mathematical conundrums.

I kind of got it in my head that it went a little like this -
E = Exterminate Cycle Chat Member
F = Fires of Hades
1 = 1st on list (or Most Wanted Member)

E- Early
F- Friday
1- Week of month
A- To enable you to distinguish between EF1 & other forms.

Things are positive, thank you for asking WD, I trust the Tea crew are much the same as before?
As nutty as ever!

As Mrs D says each to their own. You do what suits you, I would much rather try to get out and ride even if it might only be 30 miles, but I feel far better doing that.
I have a turbo and have used it like a lot of people when the weather prevents me from going out, but I bought a set of rollers off someone & now i've got a lovely perm and I do find wearing them very enjoyable. They certainly teach you how to control a bike and help you to improve your pedalling action. It is amazing how much you control your bike via your hips because the slightest change can be felt riding the bike.

 ;)

on a serious note though Choo Choo & others, I've been considering a lower end turbo from Elite (couldn't tell you which model).

Are there any that can be recommended & is it a faff changing back wheels over etc ?

What might I find annoying about turbo's ?

I just bought a cheap one and I don't change the wheel. I dont find there is any wear and tear.

I've got one of the Elite magnetic things, had it out in the shed, headphones on, music playing with a interval training app counting down and announcing my programmed phases of different levels of exercise. Useful for cadence training, and helps me when my balance is off, I burn the calories just as well and I can't crash it!
Main problem is boredom fro most, I found splitting it down into chunks of different exercises in the session most useful, focusing on goals rather than how long altogether.
