Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Very much so.
What looks like a French accent is called a stress mark and it's found in all multi syllable words to show which part of a word is stressed. The position of the stress can completely change the meaning of similar words. I will cover things like that in future lessons.

You are correct to notice that the first two words are similar and that is an issue I was going to mention later. The Greek word for 'good' in the feminine gender is 'καλή' . The Greek word for day is μέρα, which is a feminine noun. They are put together with only one stress to produce a separate word/expression.

Gold star to this student

Sounds like to much stresses and strains to me.

No, only 1 stress per word.

Now Mrs WD, we need to have a little chat. From a behavioural point of view you are creating mental blocks/barriers to your ability to learn as you are telling yourself that things are too difficult before you even try them. You have as much ability to learn Greek as anyone else. Believe in yourself and give it a go. Before long you will be receiving stars instead of getting lines!!

I think I must be missing my old teaching career - I'm enjoying this too much!!!!!!!!

It's a confidence booster that I used to say in my teaching days. When a person is qualified in something they have proven their competence in that subject and should then be confident about themselves in relation to that area of life. A confident person is often a happier, more able, person who can get on better in life.
