What looks like a French accent is called a stress mark and it's found in all multi syllable words to show which part of a word is stressed. The position of the stress can completely change the meaning of similar words. I will cover things like that in future lessons.
You are correct to notice that the first two words are similar and that is an issue I was going to mention later. The Greek word for 'good' in the feminine gender is 'καλή' . The Greek word for day is μέρα, which is a feminine noun. They are put together with only one stress to produce a separate word/expression.
