And all you have to do is rustle the bag. She'll get wise to sooner than you think, you realise that!

Why chance making it worse, possibly with another A&E trip involved.
Were forecast reight, and that might have been too energetic as well.
Busy doing not a lot then. How goes the car work? You can do that laying down on the floor.

Does Mrs M still visit any of them?

They deserve to get stuffed?

Still a few working the land,
most retired and left the game, nobody wanted to carry on.

Official wet day..
It misses out the fact that for thousands of mill workers Sundays were the only "free" day away from their work they had.

I'm glad you put that piece in at the end about where you'd got it from. You had me worried for a while.

You manage to reflect, relax and recharge?

For almost 30 years, my only day off was the day of the sun, my choice though....
It's a right load of prattle,
bit OTT to be fair..

Not as many required to do the same work. The times they are a changing...
And the farming, do they still do that?

Dry day, here at least. Thinning sky says no rain, tonight at least.

Bet you never got paid for the Sundays either! Your "free days".
Now, after nearly thirty years you don't even get Sundays off.
In ways, but it misses other parts completely. I did wonder if it were the pain causing you to think like that.

Still a dry day here..
Impressive rays of sunshine filtering in the room...

Farming, only a few of the young 'uns took over...

I worked more than a few Sundays then looked after someone's garden for years, mostly on a Sun (if I never made it down Fri evenings),
Bob never sat on his erse much.
I make up for it now:laugh:

I need:cuppa:

Listening to it falling outside, from inside. No sun today...

Same everywhere on the farms, I feel.

Working on yer free day. How'd you find time for yer hobbies, maggot and worm swimming instructor to name but one.
Did looking after someone else's garden pay well, compared to what they charge now. £60-£85 for a once a month visit round here.
What did you sit on if not yer Erse/erchie?

You get cuppa?

I never knocked back extra as it paid for holidays for the family...
I used to get 8 quid an hour..
plus it was my doctor at the time so he had to keep me well:laugh:
3 hours at the most, 90 mins travelling though on motorbike then lately, scooter..
This mofo

They'd strimmers back then!

Would you do it again, nights included?
Prices have gone up a bit since then it seems.
How'd you fit yer paid council work in amongst all that, without nodding off.
He'd have been able to keep an eye on you working as well. Ensuring you were doing what you were being paid for.

There's no room for carrying anything on that. And they were unsafe, at anything above 10mph weren't they?
80mph, and no helmet. The wind going through yer hair...
Easy park-up though.
Get another, relive yer wild days on the roads. Laws permitting.

Nope..
I'm retired phew, 8 eight years (end of last month)
Babysitting only....

I had a 'pizza' box on the back
I'd a super dream which tbh was at the end of its days,
place i used to get work done, bloke said take a loan of scooter until you decide (I used to do garden jobs for him in lieu of bills)..
a couple of days and this was for me....
as not many were imported into UK, pattern parts were hard to get and only from abroad, exhausts had to come from japan land and final straw was a new exhaust would have been over 400 GB Pounds, much more that it was worth, it had a hairline crack on the aluminium (crank case?) and shipped a pint of oil a month and they wanted funny money for a replacement.
I tried to punt spares or repair but not a soul was interested, I had said what's it worth to you ?
I ended up giving it away to some bloke from Lancashire...
I didn't want to just throw it in a skip...

we just come back from an Irish holiday and the phone went, it was man who owned bike shop, explained sorry he had to call but could I pay for the scooter..
I had paid, his wifie in office had started a different system without telling him..
next service and parts were free as an apology:laugh:

I have mentioned a bike on a couple of occasions but Mrs M glowered...
and said you have a good enough bike....
no Ducati Monster then?

Not even with the prices they charge now. To be fair though, there's some who'd want their garden looking like a show garden after yer first visit.
Eight years and yer busier now I bet. No time to do anything...
Can I send a few up to you, for babysitting!

You'd never have fitted a strimmer in a pizza box. Pair of gloves and a trowel maybe.

Was it worth the use as against getting paid.
I bet they didn't think they'd sell over here, and when they found out they would they were none left.
That was one big problem with imports, availability of spares. No matter what it was.
You gave it away. Did he at least offer you summat for it?

This wasn't the same Irish holiday where you went for the fishing only to find the country closed was it.

Get one with a sidecar, and say you can take Toodles out in it. Or would the suggestion result in withdrawal of privileges for a while.

Well, another official Wet Day down here.
Quite heavily around 2am as well.

With only four days to go before the week long heatwave is due to start, it's not looking hopeful.
