Still a light in the windows at night, to guide those lost?
I'll not disagree on surprise visitors. Especially those bearing gifts...

Yer gills get a well earned clean. Dry here, so far, but expecting a damp evening-night.
You're headed over Moville a fair bit o'late. You tried one of those McD's that are in the motorway services yet.

Stuck trying to get One across...
Do the Saturday crosswords only. A week before they give the answers. If they want yer patronage, it'll have to be with a discount, for yer loyalty.

Any acks on this "Meshtastic Route"
And you keeping a firm hold of it as you hold it out the window.

Actual size....
I was going to use a long-handled teaspoon just for fun...
No 'acks' today but tbh didn't expect any on the 'out'..
We played 'right or left?'... right, right, right won..
Normally, that way is left, straight on, then for a fair bit then turn round...
Still would prefer the bigger 40cm antenna..( that one is 20cm)
The problem is antenna diameter( Bottom) is too big for the allocated fit, I must learn how to adapt it.
Built for urban use tbh.

Smaller than I were expecting, and neater in overall design. The yellow case the work of yer overworked printer?
T'is teaspoon then...
Heads left, Tails right next time. Take yer route planning to a the toss of a coin.
Would a wraparound antenna work? Is one even available that'd wrap round the edge of the case.

Question on antenna's.
Are the threads common ones throughout or do they vary by manufacturer.
Looking at replacing an old mobile phone one, then getting the inside swapped out for a new one.

Case? of course.
1 hr 59 min for everything, the button print is needing some sanding but I'm thinking of a wee experiment, making it a mm less high and if no use, I'll try 2 but haven't much to play with, it prints in one piece but the connecting strip is thin, I'll play when ever I get the chance, the battery lasts up to 5x with this board than the other.
The antenna is more suited to urban, busier areas, the 40cm one is more suited to what I need,
Board specs...

I've found a use for one of my 433 boards, but it can wait until I get further with this one..
I even updated my blog. I'm adding to the front page as I go along, got fed up looking at the front page since last year...
Long day...
If I remember, I'll post an inside view of the case with everything in place...

It's a one sided case, not a clamshell design? Wouldn't look as neat from the rear.
Also a lot smaller than expected, going on the drawing above. Does the board allow the printed piece to latch onto the board, if not a clamshell design. Can you sand down on the inside of the printed piece to the depth you require. Or will you be reprinting.
What'll be your answer if you're ever stopped and asked what it is as you wander around trying for acks...

The 433 the board size?
How far do you think you can take yer current project.
You've had a busy day, in ways. You prepared for the Toodle Twins arrival, mentally and physically...
What'd you put up to replace that which you pulled down.

Sorry, 433 is the MHz....
433 and 868 MHz have a small devices band that is free to use, allowing low-power devices to be used by anyone.
It's a low-use band, no more than 10% tx'ing in an hour and of course, low power (unless you are licensed)
You'd be surprised what remote controls, keys etc are used.
I did the 433 stuff, a couple of years ago (?) and got tyre pressure thingies, remote control curtains, heat pump stuff and wx station amongst other stuff. Mind you, I could be wrong about some of this

The rear of the case is just the same with no 'screen' or holes for the buttons...advised sometimes to use hot glue, but Blu-tack does me.
Sand down? aye but fiddly as 'eck to work with, it's 2.3 mm at its thickest.

Dunno, it all depends on how many others are using it, and it seems not many. I've a cross-border raid planned in the future, so passing through the so-called busy area, so I'll keep one active for that if nothing else

The board measurements in the picture came close to 433. Just didn't want to assume and get it wrong.
You can only transmit for six minutes an hour. Bit unfair if there's not many using either. Remotes aside of course.
Remote control curtains! What's wrong with the olde fashioned manual method.
You got yours or anyone elses smart meter with it yet?

You weren't just showing it's good side then. Nifty looking piece I'll say that much. More business like in the case than an exposed board.
What'd be wrong with plastic Cement, and it's associated whiff so beloved of many modellers.
Can't attack it with heavy hands, or be distracted whilst doing the sanding.

Could we use it to keep tabs on you, or will that be left to the pet tracker someone else suggested. Keeping one active, sending or receiving?

I don't have a smart meter,
with all the RF, it could go wonky...
I could though...
There are ways...

The transmit thing isn't a problem, you can set it up to TX every so ofter, bog standard is 15min intervals, 5 would probably be better for me but TX time is minimal anyway, 12 x 1 min (at the very most) is 20% mind you..
I haven't looked at TX time yet, I'll look today at some point.

Shed earlier but gave up as it was the inside of an oven, and even worse, walked home in it.
Bob is a mess after that part..
A cold shower worked wonders....

The person (a girl(?) Who designs the files is superb at what they do, all types of boards have roughly the same pattern on each creation, so why change a winning formula.
I like the brightly coloured ones as easy to see..
I have a gold one for my TinyGS module,
It's going great guns, 37 different CubeSat pickups in a 24 hr period with 348 full packets received..
The land across the sea has plenty oop there..and the Putin one too..
They are all on 433 mhz, that's why I have spare boards I can use for other things.

APRS (ham radio licence required) can be tracked by say Mrs M if I'm using it when I'm out although Wahoo thing I have you can do the same...but you need internetty thing (also with the phone) I'll look into it at some point once it's cold, methinks, too hot to think about anything

That'll explain why you've not picked it up yet.
Makes a bit more sense with the explantion as given. On all the time would just block everyone else. But if you were travelling throug a remote area, transmitting for a longer time to allow for the signal reception.
Check when(if) it cools down.
Think we're going to have to rethink
