Re bike box/bag or hire, have a look at:
http://www.cyclingweekly.co.uk/fitness/training/should-you-hire-a-bike-for-a-training-camp-212532
It's why we decided to set up a firm that takes your bikes for you (and you too if you want), because neither option is particularly appealing. We load bikes in the UK and you with them if you're happy to drive and then take you down or meet you there. Seems popular.

Yes, I'm not impressing anyone with my short term memory, but doing a little better with long term memory. Still remember pi with 14 digits . Pretty useless information to carry along and would gladly dump a few digits to make place for remembering my purse when I go shopping.

Lars, its a wallet in the UK for men and a purse for women.
The only real difference is that the purse is for keeping the wifes money in, and is carried by the wife, and the wallet is carried by the man for the wife to use.

PS: If, in Denmark, men get to take the wife's purse when they go shopping then perhaps we Brit's have got something good to learn from the Danes!

So me on a good day is similar to you on a very bad day. You obviously weren't yourself today AAAC or those hills would have given you enough of a lead to stay well ahead of the advantage we could get on the downhills.
If you're able to make the 8pm Tuesday handicap you should do well even though you're right at the back with Bob, as the long shallow uphill will put you in your element if you're feeling a little better.

8 pm does not sit well with the wife and the evening meal as it's too early for me to eat before the race as we don't finish work untill gone 6 on Tuesdays.

I have been looking at the rest of the chaingang rides for this month and I predict the yourself and Lars will take time out of me on the roller coaster, using your superior Pro-slings, and then some more on stage 3 as it is 'down hill all the way' so to take this league I am going to have to beast you both on the final stage, so long as the stage does not keep crashing on me and my subscription does not run out.
On that last note I had a watch of last weeks race when I thought I was racing alone and it was odd to see how everything I did fitted pretty well into what you were all seeing in the live race.

Do you take your bike or hire?

I'm off to Cyprus in a few weeks and think I might take my bike.
I'm hiring bikes, I didn't even consider taking mine, it seemed too much trouble but probably isn't. I've got to learn how to use Shimano gears as i couldn't find any with campagnolo on for hire at a reasonable costs. I'm expecting a loads of wrong gear changes.

No worries, having such a patchwork language that is a compromise of Romantic, Germanic and Nordic heratige with a bit of Gaelic thrown in we struggle with it our selves where there is nearly always more than one word for the same thing.

Just took a look at the other chaingang stages myself and it looks to me like the roller coaster will be the one for you beast us. Those hills could be long enough for you to take the advantage with your superior climbing. The others could be tough for you and the downhill one could be tough for both of us as I think Lars has a slight downhill speed advantage over me. Drafting has to be our solution there. As for the long flat draft, best to just take Ricks advice and draft to win I think then try to beat each other to the line on the last km.

It's bloody dangerous outdoors... :stop:

Mind you, it sounds pretty dangerous on some of these cyclechat bkool sessions, with talk of sickness, injury and exhaustion a plenty!

It's strange, but the pain doesn't come across when spectating, even when the Heart Rate is showing crazy numbers...

Geoff

When I watched the replay of Adam in a close 4th riding along happy as Larry and oblivious to the up coming slingshot that the rest of us were about to employ, and then seeing the gap increase and the effort he then put in to try and prevent our disappearance, I felt his pain! (psychologically more than physical).

I see you liking this comment young Richard, you wouldn't know about negotiations!! I just give in for an easy life ^_^:hugs:

Hands up who's a bit jealous of Rick now
I guess we don't enter negotiations in this house. But I would never go ahead and buy something if I knew Gail wasnt happy for me to do so, hence one decent Vitus 105 road bike and an old 350 pound commencal on the bkool.

Just had another look at the next ride myself.
I am not sure what the climb descent details mean other than it starts at the same level as it finishes, which is pretty obvious because it is a circuit.
But is each of the climbs up to +572m or is the total climbing 572m?
If it's 8 x up to +572m I have a better chance but if its 8 x up to +71.5m I think the advantage lays with you and Lars (I think it is the latter).
