I'm getting really jealous now.

Firstly, Bill mentioned having 2 bikes, one for outside and one for indoors with different tyres.

Then, there is all this talk about cycle shoes and cleaty thingies.

I've only got the one bike, and what's even worse I've only got one pair of shoes which I use for work, cycling and going to the footie.

I had to have a lie down last night, having spent £20 on a new tyre - but hopefully I'll be on the grid tonight, in envy of the flashy footware.

Ordinarily this would make me feel really guilty, but seeing as I only have one pair of shoes for all the other things I have to do (including work) I really don't feel so bad.
For cycling I have 1 pair of road shoes, 2 sets of road spd pedals + 2 spare sets of cleats, but for mountainbiking I have lightweight shoes similar to the road shoes but with mountainbike cleats & pedals (the shimano ones that shed the mud and ice properly M540's) and also the waterproof boot type with cleats for the 24 hour racing. Also lets not forget the sealskin socks and the neoprene overshoes.

As far as bikes go I have the two road ones and two mountainbikes (Rule #12, n+1), one of each being carbon fibre. I also don't feel guilty about this because Rule # 25 applies.

la la la (fingers in ears), did you say something Bridgy/ Cannot hear you. ( contemplating evening lying on Sofa watching bkool stage race then Telly...)
You'll be there Bob. you always say you won't but then you just can't resist when the time comes.
I am still stuck in work and will be for best part of an hour so will struggle to get back and warmed up in time for tonight.

This sounds perfectly reasonable to me - and it's not like you don't make use of those bikes!

In my case I have to keep a close eye on the S-1 equation in Rule #12 which limits me to just one road bike and one mountain bike - both made of metal!

Got the bike back this morning from it's service, the guy reckons i would be much better off with some Shimano 105 calipers for my brakes rather than the Tektro TK-R312 i have at the moment.......had a quick look online....lovely only £23 each.......reading on a little further ........and i would need new brake shifters at £97!!! Really? Glad i don't need any brakes on the trainer!!

I might try and do it at around 8ish if you (and anyone else who can't make it at 7) want to join me then?
Might struggle with 7pm tonight so whilst the only time you will see me is the first few seconds I may well join you at 8 if life hasn't miraculously uncomplicated itself by 7.

Chaingang Tonight 7pm
Usual start instructions apply except I'll be starting it so if you usually find the ride by doing a search for rick then instead search for bill. The ride is the stage 2 rollercoaster which is:
Pujades de Potencia a Son Angel I La Vall
warmup starts at 7pm and the race starts at 7:10

If it happens to false start which it sometimes does these days, if it starts after 5 mins of warmup (7:05) then we'll just keep going but if it false starts before 7:05 then we'll re-start. So please try to be on the line before 7:05 if possible.

I'll be starting a half hour warmup session at 6:25 if anyone wants to join in.
It'll be Alto de la Covatilla which is a small mountain taking about a half hour at 220 watts or so. Feel free to join in then cut it short to join the main event if it look like over running. I find that this kind of warm-up helps.

Don't think I'm going to make the live Chaingang tonight - a clash with parent's evening unfortunately. I might manage to do it later in the evening so I'll be looking in with interest to see how it goes because I've just seen the profile and it looks BRUTAL
What?!? Sounds like a cunning ploy to let me set you a ghost to draft and beat! I shall just have to give it my all.

you all need skinny feet so you can fit in some really nice specialized sworks shoes, very light with lovely carbon soles which are very very stiff
That's what I have, but they are quite a slim fit. They are a very nice shoe though, and match my new S works saddle very nicely too.
