I'm going to have to do the same unfortunately LB. Not looking forward to it

Which reminds me, I'm not going to be able to do the re-run on Saturday. Can someone else please start it at 5pm.
I would offer to but I won't be able to make it Saturday either

I was pretty sure you'd beat me there too Paul. For a while I thought you might beat AAAC the way you were sticking to him. I lost a lot of time on the first hill due to my slipping tyre. I had the pressure set for fast riding, not for hills. Then I think I mostly caught you by slingshotting and I think you missed some or all of them.
I was trying to slingshot but as I tired, my efforts became increasingly ineffective!

I haven't got a hammer in my Cycle Toolbox, note to self, must get a hammer to hit the chain with!
Saying that the last time I used a hammer on a bike was to knock cotter pins in and out, note to self, go get a hammer from your DIY toolbox if you ever need to use one on your bike.
Cotter Pins, I love these little reminders of days gone by.

For those wondering what these things are - http://sheldonbrown.com/cotters.html

Damn @BILL S I thought I might have had you there for a bit - you paced it brilliantly though - whilst I was dying a slow and painful death on the last 2 ascents! Good race!

Bridgy, good effort Sir.
Sorry about that zooming off on the second ascent, I hit the sweet spot of a Pro Sling or a worm hole and was flying up the hill at 60 kph.
It was so embarrassing I stopped pedalling to try and stop it and then eased off of the pressure to try and give back my oddly gained advantage.

Bill, I got the feeling you weren't going 100% today and I was a bit worried that you would return again on Saturday (whilst I am away for the weekend) and better my time forcing me to do this horrible course again when I get back on Sunday.

Lars, note my average watts for today was 312 (but it was 380 climbing aided by some pretty good Pro Slings at 1034 watts, 680 watts over nearly 200m, 520 watts and finally 615 watts).
The last ascent didn't lend itself quite so well to the same tactic though.

It was nice not having to chase anyone downhill today which gave me a chance to rest up well between climbs.

I'm taking my tablet with me over the weekend so I will be looking out for challenges over the weekend!

Edit
PS Bill: This it what happens when you do a sneaky to take the GC, (karma!)

I don't like the fact that you and GW took well over an hour to finish that course ... I bet set aside 90 minutes tomorrow evening ! :surrender:

That wasn't very pleasant was it and didn't go to plan.

I lost my chain on the bottom of the 3rd climb and took 4.5 minute¡s to sort it.

I was in 2 minds whether to continue but just wanted to get a time on the board as I can't make Saturday.

It was a real struggle but tried to reel TheBoxers in but couldn't quite manage

I doubt I'll be trying to improve on that effort -once is enough for that one.

Well done to all.

With the fear of some big Welsh hills on my mind I've been trying to lose some weight over the past few weeks and have finally managed to shift a kilo (I consider it shifted once my weight's been there for a full week, which it now has - hurrah!). Thankfully it doesn't appear to have affected my power either, which if anything seems to be improving (double hurrah!)

Will it muck things up if I change reduce my weight on Bkool while the current leagues are in session @BILL S, @RickB , @gbrown ? I don't think a kilo's going to make a world of difference, but it's still nearly a month until the current Spring League finishes so I'd quite like to change it now if that's possible/allowed?

I found that if you change your weight mid league all your sessions are then not immediately validated. The league admin's do approve them though.

No problem for you to change your weight Paul. I would if I could lose a kilo. For the likes of todays stage I think the reduced kilo would probably have got you a second place. In a normal Chaingang race, not a lot of difference.

Haha Yes I know I got what I deserved for my sneaky ride yesterday. The cyclechat leagues have had quite a history of sneakiness which has usually added to the fun and competitiveness, but recently there's been less of that for some reason. I think because it's so close (or was) at the top I'll grab a few seconds wherever and however I can. Unfortunately now I have to re-do todays ride on Sunday and probably going to employ the services of your ghost, for pacing. Hopefully 3 days rest will be enough to get close to you.

You'll go downhill slower though!

As others have said it just means each ride needs to be validated but no biggy. :okay:
I must do the same as I've shed about 4 pounds when I was sick and they seem to be staying off. Now under 13 stone for the first time in 20 years.

Might try and get on tonight to complete the handicap ride from Tuesday. Will try to make sure I have some ghosts to tow I feel far less guilty about just tucking in behind a ghost.

Go team green wooooo yayyyyy
