great ride LB:okay: Sorry i could not stay with you:sad:
Thanks, but I not sure I should have saved that ride. It was one of those sessions where I suddenly realised I was doing +400 watt with a pulse below 150. I tried to reset things by stopping completely and let watts drop to 0. Some times I had to do it several time in a row, but it helped. Just like last time that happened to me, the watts would slowly rise again, and then I had to repeat the procedure. The last time I did it, the "fix" sticked. It was right after Bill left the session as spectator, I think there was about 10k to go at that time.
Anyway Bill, If I'm the only one with problems in that session, maybe you shouldn't approve my attempt. Else we should just all register the same time and move on to the next session?

LB, my ride seemed unreal, 136% effort and averaging close to 50kmh at times riding 55 kmh. Watts averaging 390 and when sprinting 550 plus. For long periods. Forgot my chest strap for heart rate so cannot compare. I was pretty much flat out. None the less the speeds and power I saw seemed wrong.

I took part in my first Zwift group ride, it was a social ride and I must say I was impressed...probably describe the ride similar to a club group ride, every now & then the pace would pick up on the front and then the ride leader would send out a message for the front riders to slow down to re-group again.

My bkool trainer is still showing low watts but in fairness I didn't take any notice to the numbers tonight I just enjoyed riding together in a group.

Will try a different pace group next time and see what that's like

Monte,
That sounds good. Richmond course? I find it a bit dull compared to the others but perhaps better for a steady ride? I have avoided group rides because I feared I might be drawn in further! The sub2 rides are tempting as a start. Perhaps we should get a little group together for our own ride?

Very impressed on how controlled the group was... The group I joined was 2.5 watts/kg - 3 watts/kg

You guys were too quick for me. I see you did the same as me though Bob, only that bit faster.
I'll be green now hopefully.xx(

Bill, I didn't intend to bail but catching you two once was hard enough, then having to do so a second time, whether you slowed for me or not, was just too much and left me really struggling to breathe. I never ride flat out, on the limit like that when in Zwift just when I am trying to chase you guys.
One other thing-drafting. I got behind you both and dropped my watts by 50-80 and still overshot you. I just cannot get it right. I think the somewhat flattering speeds I reach makes it harder.

Well you had a good minute on me last night before I bailed and at one point you were almost a minute behind me and LB so you must've put in a big effort. Don't know if you have a window in your loft, but I haven't, so even with the air con it was too hot for me. I had the choice of bailing and getting a nice green shirt, or cruising to the finish at 300 watts or so and maybe getting a red shirt instead. No way could I keep up the pace we were going though.

I have a window. I just need to remember to leave it open rather than open it 30m before a ride:rolleyes:. I will give the ride another go over the weekend and start a little slower in the hope I can save my puff for the end.

I know this is a bkool forum but recognise many are toying with trying Zwift as well. Here is a link to a useful blog: http://zwiftblog.com/

Nicely done Rick :bravo:
Thanks Boxers but I'm not sure my current form of cycling will make me much stronger for bkool sessions!!

Haven't been on much recently so I'll give a wee update on what I'm up to.

Been doing the club time trials and also the club races and interclub series.

That session above was the last race in our Interclub series. 5 clubs each hosting a race. A and B leagues I'm in the B league. 2 sets of riders in each league. I'm in the second group chasing down the first group. Came 4th last night which was my best result yet, in spite of the big hill two thirds of the way through it!! :heat:

Did a sub 26 min time trial last week too which was an improvement (standard road bike)

All this real life cycle lark is good fun.

Doing my first Cycle Ireland A4 race tomorrow which will likely be a bridge too far. 80 riders riding over 50 miles and its quite hilly. If I finish mid pack I'll be pleased.

I won't be able to start the re-run tomorrow as I have to go out. Not that I wouldn't love to do that 31km again.
Anyone available to start it tomorrow at 5pm?

PS: Just looked at your Barcelona Catalunya Session, Stage 2 in the Chain Gang August September League, and your stats look really dodgy with all of those flat lines.
Sorry to say but I think the end is nigh!

Could be constant disconnects I suppose
Just an update. I emailed Bkool who I must say emailed straight back which in the past it normally took a few days to respond, however, after resyncing the trainer and rebooting the pc everything went well tonight regarding the trainer. Gradients were smooth and almost instant and speed dropped and increased as expected so I am relieved for the moment that all is well with the trainer - unless my stats say otherwise for the Rio route ( I think they reflect the session accurately as my legs are tired)
