I did the Summer Cup Stage 9 in the 'featured' live race today and it was a good turnout.
I was just thinking that I have had no crashes recently and what should happen 6 minutes in, bang, crash your out.
Not to be perturbed I started again and started carving my way back through the field.
Fueled with a bit of anger for crashing out I was going at it head down and did not pay much attention to the screen other than where I was in the race and how far it was to the next 'rest' on a down hill so I could let my HR recover a bit and go at it on the climbs.
It wasn't until I was back with the front runners that I realised how different my firmware actually is.
The most obvious are:
1. The Pro Slings
2. Climbing Blue Numbers
It's those blue numbers that stood out the most. Once I was back in the race I wanted to coerce some racing but when the gradient increased I was flying away from the competition even when I was trying not to as the blue numbers would kick in and my avatar would just continue on at a slightly decreased speed. I literally had to put the brakes on to make the speed go white again.
With these two major issues with my firmware coupled with the dead stops others with the latest are getting it is no surprise that my PB holds top slot in the Stage standings. Defo getting that new trainer as soon as is practical.

Ok, guess I'm the one to start tonights Chain Gang:

Hurst Wokingham. 7pm warmup start.

Just got back from pizza and beers so will probaly bail after start.

Can't believe how many of those roads I used to train on.
Is there a video for this one as that would be pretty nostalgic for me.

I could do with your trainer and FW ... any help I can get on the hills would be most welcome

I'm having issues with the external network for my broadband. I am hoping it gets fixed today, or at least significantly improved. Riding on your own with an iffy network connection on something like stage 9 could result in the virtual world getting a 10lb sledge hammer dispatched it's way :cursing::banghead:

Looks like my broadband has been sorted out :wahhey:. Now I've got to get stage 9 done  :bicycle:  :mrpig:.

What was wrong with your BB, how are you connected, fiber to modem or fiber to box in street miles away then copper to modem and who are you contracted with.
Interested because mine drops out when it rains and I am almost 100% sure that it is the malfunction junction in the telegraph pole which is the next fail point after my master box.
We are 100% with Sky and you phone in when the connection fails and by the time you get to talk to anyone the connection is back so it is a typical 'no fault found', case closed.
Interestingly they often claim the line must be fine because you are making a phone call but although I am no 'lecy I expect it takes far more to interrupt a now old fashioned digital voice connection than a digital internet link exchanging far more data.

I'm a Virgin (stop sniggering at the back) Media user on the hfc (hybrid fibre coax) nerwok. I've been experiencing intermittant drop outs for some time. Usually only short 1 or 2 minute problems, not a major problem for me as I work for the company and get it cheap.

However over the last week to 10 days it has been a pain. I've tried the usual stuff of connectors and splitter changes all to no avail. I got my test meter home yesterday and saw that the signal levels and performance was worse than dire. I spoke to the network deptment this morning and they did some digging in the network interogation tools and found I was not alone in having issues and there was an existing ticket for my area.

They got to it this afternoon. Turns out one of the actives in the street had decided it had had enough and was putting out crap. They replaced the active and I'm now back where I should be.

This is the first problem I've had, that was not self inflicted or a complete outage, for 15+ years. The cable modem system is usually, for me, very stable and reliable. The wifi can be, like all wifi I have used, a bit finicky. But wired it is normally solid.

:bicycle::heat:  :bicycle::heat: . Stage 9 . That was hard . Sorry @Whorty I only got you on the last 10+ % bit due to my superpower. You had me beat up to then.

I will be sliding down the league after that effort. Pain, pain and more pain for me :surrender:

No probs TB ... that is a very hard slog. Well done for finishing it! I was thinking when i was going up the high gradients that it would suit you and will hopefully keep you high in the league.
