roasting here at moment so no chance of me bkooling in shed but i am on my way soon ! be nice to see if team green still have the same style - very rarely seen all together - sometimes not even in the same race !! i like to think we were the artful dodgers of race night - likeable scamps but have a tendancy to be thinking of something else ! - my old teacher said when plowing the field of life focus on something in the distance and head to it - then said that i had focused on a cow!

Perky is prime candidate to make team `not so red` probably/addition Or replacementfor me until I get another Bkool trainer. The kickr is no match for speed.

Besides the other guys would be able to hear each other without my big fan in the background:laugh:

All this talk of the different colour teams is very intriguing, looking forward to getting into it and understanding what everyone is talking about

Afternoon all.
I doubt i will be bkooling for some weeks. My ITB issue has reared its freaking painful head again and i need time to recover and get some physiotherapy done. I blame 10 days of being on holiday and lots of walking but no cycling :sad:Honest, if you have not had ITB issues be aware that for those of us ageing cyclists it is quite common and you may want to ensure you are working on those muscles groups to reduce the risk. I will look in every now and again though especially once AAAC gets his new bkool pro :okay:

That's a shame Bob - hope some rest improves it for you.

I've just looked that up and I wonder if it's the cause of the knee pain I suffer with. In the past mine has only been a problem when running (hence stopping running!) - kicks in after a few miles as pain and stiffness on the outside of my right knee. Rest usually sorts it, and up to now I've had no problems at all when cycling. However, when I did that 12 hour spinning challenge, It started to become painful during that (I think because some of the long, repeated standing sessions were similar to the affect of running?) and since then it's been niggling me constantly. I did carry on spinning for about 6 hours while it was hurting so I only have myself to blame I guess?!

As I say though, to date it's not affected my cycling thankfully, but I might try some of the suggested stretching exercises and see if that helps...

Hope to see you back on the Bkool soon though Bob

It could be bridgy. I think my mistake last year was to confuse initial symptoms with cartilage problems that stopped me running 25 years ago. It is really due to muscle imbalance which is why it is common among cyclists and runners. If you don't address the symptoms early the band gets so taut it hinders leg/knee movement and then the symptoms/pain are akin to sciatic pain. So, at its worse my knee kicks out as i walk up and down stairs, my knee locks, and there is an intense pain that moves of its own accord, up and down the leg, through the knee and into the foot. It is bonkers. Cycling actually helps, as i said when the symptoms really hit some 6-8 months ago, i think because, balanced with cold presses/ice and pain killers and physio, it loosens up the knee etc. But i don't think balls out cyclechat bkool racing is the right way forward just yet! There is lots of advice online that might help nip it in the bud for you if your pain is ITB related and a useful thread here with exercises too.

5 post rule then in?
No, just the group mods not about and no mountain goat sessions set up. Try the chaingang  and/or handicap (currently weight :mrpig:) leagues they are current. You will have to wait for approval there as well though.

Let them know your bkool name if different to here

My Bkool name is the same, had the trainer for a couple of years and only came across this site today, cheers will try that when I'm bonafide
Welcome Dango - don't worry, one of the admins will be along soon to approve you, it's just that as theBoxers says none are around at the moment to respond to you. Bill would normally but he's away until the 11th I think.

Keep asking on here if you don't hear anything and you'll be accepted on the league as soon as one of the admin pops their head in!
