Yeah, happy New Year all!
I was wondering where your ride went, but re-doing it today and squashing everyone but DP is just crazy. I don't know how you do it. I need at least 2 days between rides to perform anywhere near max.
I live close to the beach and I'm considering to jump into the ocean just to try and recover faster.
Well done Bill the time you put in compared to yesterday is amazing
Thing is though I was not in a good condition for my run and aaac even in a sorry state will be able to keep up. I really relaxed on the downhills so the gap would not open up as aaac could get assistance in my slipstream and nail the ending. TBH I nearly gave up I felt so bad.
Thanks for the e-mailHappy New Year Chaingangers!
Because my ride still hasn't appeared and the league is still live I've decided to have a re-run tonight at 5pm. sorry for the short notice. Feel free to join the ride either on time or later although all the ghosts will be leaving the start line at 5:10 sharp with me.
Unfortunately I'm still knackered from yesterday so don't think I'll beat my yesterday time.
Mt Teide, I wouldsay the Mountain won overall, this round
Psychologically beaten it
Physically wrecked
3.5hrs to reach the rim of crater.
I have never cycled so slowly for so long.
hour 1 10mph ave
hour 2 dropped to 8.7mph
hours 3 dropping 7.5mph
had to stop at 3.5hrs, 3000 Cals burnt
My thighs are killing me.
@bobinski have you decided to part company with your pro unit? If so can you give me a chance to buy it please?
@Whorty here is my first experiment ride
The first 10 is hard, the second 10 is awful with varying gradients and if you have anything left just hang on to mile 27 to crest the rim

There is another route of 30 miles to the highest point on the mountain. Search Teide
It's only showing 5.2 miles with a time of 30 minutes for that sessionAndy, I cannot access the link- takes me to a forbidden page
