Lol i took it at a steady pace making sure i had something left for the last lap, it wasn't as bad as the test ride if i had to keep at that pace i wouldn't of made it to the 3rd lap.
My tactic was the opposite, go for it and hope I had something left for the last lap.

Thanks guys especially Bob, helped me better my summer time and i'm guessing i won't be doing it again until the next cup.

Glad to be of help but truth is your presence and Jim's and at one point goldwolfie pushed me harder. I had to get away from you all on the inclines because you were on me in no time on anything else else especially the downhills.

What a disaster I setup my bike reverting back to bkool. A quick test earlier worked fine, but on warm up I couldn't get in the 11t . Changing was very reluctant up or down. I was adjust b screw adjustment with a minute to go. So no proper warm up overcooked the start. Suffered with terrible dead stops, one went to 1.5 mph. Loads of riders flew by me and all momentum lost on the short climb. I tried freewheeling into gradient changes, powering into them, nothing worked. Then to add insult to already pissed, chain fell off half way up last hill. I got off and was looping it back on the ring. Looked up and I had gone over the crest faster by standing beside the bike:laugh:. I will sort gears and do it again on Saturday. I doubt I'm going to shave much off that course with such dead stops.

That will be a lesson to ya Andy- should have used the kickr:okay: seriously though sounds like a nightmare. It would have been interesting to compare our rides especially given you are a stronger rider than me. I did a nice easy ride on Watopia yesterday,600 ft elevation , couple of climbs and more or less same distance and same time for 60 watts less and never felt like I was pushing it. Today, I was flat out, apart from a rest towards end of 3rd lap as I teased srs52 and Jim to come and get me, yet I could barely turn the pedals on 12% downhill and struggld to hit 35kmh on the flat.
I seem to be the highest placed NEO in the league stage. Go on, have a go with the kickr;)

Well I might Bob, I'm doing the Teide climb again this weekend so don't fancy going back and forth with setups. :okay:

well done Mr Breedon - i wont be trying a revenge on that one - you were but a teeny tiny speck on the horizon - i didnt like it one bit - it dont give you the option of minus stars at the end - if its of any interest to anyone i had the dead stops twice but third and forth time i was pedalling right till it changed then put brake on slightly and was going uphill nearly 30mph !! for a bit instead of 6mph with the dead stop

Berty I watched this race the other day and saw some riders carry 30 mph nearly to the crest before their speed crashed. I might try that, oh hang on there is no brakes on the kickr! Doh^_^

One to remember though:okay:

For me that ride was full of anomalies.
During the 'dead stops' no matter how hard I tried my speed would not change even if my power did.
Tried a freewheel entry but still dead stopped.
On some of the rolling flat bits off of the steep decline I was getting some mad speeds for very little power.

Other than all that it turned out not to be a good course for a big team effort, and the team get together never really happened.
At the end when DP joined Kipster and myself I thought I would try and give Bridgy a fight and set off in chase.
Got within 12 seconds on the final climb and a blue suited individual was in my sight during the last dead stop.
Turned out not to be Bridgy who had already passed through the dead stop and was pelting down the other side as the gap climbed quickly to a minute plus again so I ended up sitting up thinking about my tactics for Saturday.
Pants course for BKooling though.

When I did that course in the Summer cup my time was 23:47
I don't think I will be besting that this time round without my Pro-Slings as they have been replaced with dead stops.

A whopping 2 minutes 38 seconds improvement on my previous effort.. thank you Mr Wolfie.. and an increase in status - I am now Hamature 5 :mrpig:

You were just too strong for me at the end @Jim Brown - one lap would have been enough for me, but there again I was nearly 2 minutes quicker than the Summer Cup effort.

It was great to have some company with @srs52 and @bobinski (taking it steady I'm sure) also in the mix.

Should be interesting at the back of the peleton for the next round of CG races.

Well done to all tonight.

So out of touch with the bkool leagues, the only one I could find was the Handicap Chase January 2017 so done stage 1? did I need weight adjusted or anything first? and is the chaingang league still going can only find old leagues no present ones,
