We all survived pretty much in tact. Nearly 5k of climbing mixed in with silly male ego made for a tiring day

The 'good' thing about strava is you can pick the segments that flatter you the most . This is me and Bridgy doing a bit of drafting on a lovely long straight. Not quite top ten but not bad out of 6000 people's efforts! :hugs:

I was going to ask if you all rode together, but looking at the stats on Strava suggest it was not exactly a walk in a park. Nice stint there:thumbsup:

I think this one shows us off to the best, it's a long segment but Tommy in 72nd place over all. When I did it in to a head wind in July I was 5 minutes slower on that segment. Once I lost Tommy's wheel yesterday I had no chance.

My apologies to all for not being the competitor yesterday that you may have been looking forward to meeting/fearing  or not^_^ Sadly I was a little under the weather evidenced (I am a lawyer ^_^) by HR peak nearly 30 bpm below normal peak and power output that didn't hit zone 4 let alone 5. My seatpost issues didn't help. I should have marked the correct height. After it dropped in the morning I eyeballed a safe height for rest of the day but having measured it against my fit measurements this morning I can say it was 5cm too low! Personally underperforming was a little frustrating but I have to say pales in importance compared to the pleasure in meeting you all and sharing a beer afterwards.:cheers:And chatting shite in the journey home with TT:smile:

I do think Lee and Dean were pretty much riding within themselves for much of the day and expect them to be a little more competitive in the Pyrenees :okay:

"Except, there were a long list of issues. First off, the unit didn’t look like the renderings. Second, it was a beast. Seriously, you need to keep in mind that it almost matches the height of the wheel of the bike in front of it – and is up to the seat-post of the indoor bike behind it. Also, note the legs extend out all the way onto the trainer mats next to it.

Also, the legs didn’t fold/collapse as indicated in the press material. And in fact, the unit didn’t really do anything. There were no electronics inside this unit at all, nor the required hole or cord to plug it in. The unit also didn’t rock side to side, it was welded solid. Essentially, it was full of…air."

Trotters international trading don't sell turbo trainers, but if they did...
