I had a fantastic day. Most of the time I had someone with me so was rarely a lone cycle ride and the times you all went off it was because there was a climb where we re-grouped further down the road ... or in reality, where you guys re-grouped and rested and I caught up with you and carried on riding to get a slight headstart for when you caught me up again

I reckon if I could lose some weight I'd be better on those climbs ... still not good enough to warrant the top I wore, but maybe not dropped in the first 10 metres :heat:

Would love to join you guys again if you don't mind Mr Slow at the back, but would understand if you need to do a longer harder day and don't want to be held back :okay:

Certainly sounds like you guys had a good time and i would be more than happy to join you at the back - i do hope i can make the next one, in the mean time could somebody kindly 'approve' my CG rides 2 & 3 completed yesterday morning, thank you

6 new chainrings ordered today, various makes and teeth. I've assessed I could possibly go upto 44t from 40t, dropping cadence by nearly 10 revs and gain additional 2.5mph. I will strip down my crankset to see which fits best-all need to be modified slightly. Shimano clever design, limits interchangeable parts from XT/XTR and aftermarket chainrings. Where there is a will . Rest will be returned

In the interest of capturing a good video, I let you guys pass and got the long shot :laugh:

Great video, it's nice to see everyone parade past to get on the video, any chance of a name call to match the video? I'm surprised how far back you were, I wouldn't have thought you would get much of a tow from there?

It looks fast, what gearing did you have, 50-11? That should be good for 35 mph at 100 cadence.

Is there anyway you can add overlays with speed, power, heart rate, that kind of thing? In Garmin Virb Edit you can sync the video with a Garmin fit file and then choose overlays for the data.

Weather looks stunning, I'm really jealous... but glad it turned out so nice for you. :sun:

Geoff, I am using 40-11, my tourer bike has a MTB setup. I was upto 110rpm early on, it pushed me a little too close to the redline in heart rate and had to ease off ever so slightly, result dropped. It wasn't sufficient to match the lightweight riders running 50 or 52 crankset. I think speed was around 29-30 mph at that point. That's about maximum I could achieve with that gearing. I pulled them back a little later, but Tommy and Paul(bridgy) were well gone(1 minute faster), pretty much flat out for 11 minutes downhill, well slope.

Can I get Garmin virb for free to see if I can overlay my video?

Does the video need gps because my gopro is the small one without GPS logging

When i was on the front i was pushing 30-32 Mph at times but only because bridgy was behind me with a cadence of around 95-100 had to drop back due to a stich.
Kipster was first then when we over took it was then bridgy, me then Tommy

I'm the one out front for the first part, as I pull away I'm joined by Bridgy, Breedon and then Tommy. Sometime after the video ends Bridgy and Tommy drop me.
