No wonder I wasn't making any dent in your lead when I started pushing hard in the second half of last night's race (before the PC crashed and saved me!)

More than a fair sprinkling of dust tonight.
I was watching the final time trial in the Tirreno Adriatico afterwards and that was a pan flat 10 km and we would have smashed them all 54.5 kph.

Other than that it was like a Stage 1 re-run with Fabian @peterob just riding away from me like I was standing still.
I must admit that I did hesitate a bit again thinking that I could get @BILL S to close the gap for me and that few seconds of indecision made the difference.
Before I knew it Fabian @peterob was 7 seconds up the road which fluctuated between that and 9 seconds until the end.

I spent quite a bit at the back today and only forced the pace towards the end trying to make it difficult as you both seemed too comfortable.
That obviously didn't work 100% either.

I see you are Elite 10 now @peterob, how did you swing that?
I need to average 480 Watts to go up to 5, I hate to think what 10 needs.

I saw your hesitation there AAAC, and Pete went off so fast that you'd have had to react immediately to stay with him. At that point I was suffering enough and had no chance to make a joint effort to go after him so I didn't. Unfortunately no way for you to know that apart from my lack of reaction to Pete speeding off. Also, seeing as the final stretch was slightly uphill that gave me a mental block but by the time I realised I could go up it at a reasonable speed it was too late as you had both disappeared. Last night was after 3 days of rest. Had it been only the usual two I doubt I'd have held on as long as I did. If I looked "comfortable" that was definitely an illusion.

That's what I did a month or so ago, Just do an FTP test and hit an average output well below the Fairy dust level, and it dropped me back into team Red. .. Unfortunately I got a huge amount of Fairy dust on a MOAB ride last week and I'm back in Team Green, which I can live with. ... I dropped my FTP down manually, but that doesn't change which team your in. in order to 'change' that I have to hit an average power over 308W on a 30 minute ride .... but it won't change it down unless you do a 'fixed' FTP test.

Thanks @Aleman - I'll schedule an FTP test and hopefully get my level down to something more realistic (for Bkool anyway!)

Rode in the real world today for the first time since December!

Initial thoughts:

1. Didn't have to find @BILL S before starting the ride
2. Remember to lean the bike through the bends!
3. Bloody headwind!!
4. F***ing potholes!!!
5. Why aren't there small groups of people cheering me on at the side of the road every few kms?
6. I miss being able to ride through random buildings that appear in the middle of the road
7. Nice to stop at a cafe again. Must ask the wife to bring me cheese on toast and coffee half way through the next CG ride!
8. Different riding position moved soreness from ball bag to arse (possibly too much information there)
9. Nice to be out in the sun and fresh air again
10. My bike is dirty
11. Er...... that's it!
