im making the most of early season semi fitness before you all catch up and normal service is resumed , decided to handicap myself a bit (1 minute) it gives me a panic workout to try and catch up . I saw a few of you were riding together and someone I didnt recognise had gone in front so I was trying to catch him , when I caught up with group I saw someones numbers shoot up and panicked again so tried to lose them up the hill solely because I know I have no sprint whatsoever and couldnt leave it till near the end
I hope no one minds that I started staggered , ive been on rouvy longer and have spent my drops on a better frame and wheels , if its a better idea to have the same frame as everyone then I will do that but not sure on the difference , I gain on hills but lose on flat and down on a lighter bike , this way I can fine tune it a bit more , not interested in winning just riding and having fun . if someone good at numbers can work out a handicap then I will go along with it , if I dont hear anything I will add more delay next time . I really hope this doesnt come over as anything other than having fun - I know once fit there are plenty on here who are going to leave me in their dust .there are a few riders who turn up now and then who are so much better than all of us who I try to keep up with but stand no chance once they wind it up near the end , theres a good chance I will try to chase them if I see them on the starting line

In a moment of madness I tried to grab your wheel as it was a short climb but went way into the red and you were off over the top. Personally I don't mind for you to do what you need to keep it fun and engaging for you. As for a handicap system - I ride in APR events IRL during the summer but it's the same route and more or less the same riders so a two or three groups handicap system kind of works - not sure it would be easy to replicate on Rouvy with different courses and with relatively few riders.

Talking about the drops on Rouvy. Don’t know how you found it but comparing to Zwift it feels longer to have drops to buy a better frames and wheels.

If you join the weekly challenge you have to climb a little , ride a little and do a little challenge and it’s added extra ‘drops’and it runs along side other rides so if you enter a ride or event that gives you say 750 and it’s got height and distance , it will take it off your weekly challenge

Is anyone in here training Rouvy with a Zwift cog (virtual gears) on a bike?. Is it worthy, give a better experience etc...?. Just start to considering that.

I send email to Rouvy and asked about Zwift cog v2 and click upgrade kit what they can tell me about it. Their answer is below.

Hello,

thank you for reaching out!

We know the Click 2 setup hasn’t worked as it should, and we apologize for the frustration it has caused. In fact, we have allocated three developers full-time to address the specific issue and get to the bottom of it.

But there is good news. A virtual shifting option is on the way. You’ll soon be able to use your keyboard, touch controls, or the Companion App to shift again. It will be ready in the first half of November, so stay tuned for more information.

In the meantime, here’s a quick workaround that usually helps:
  1. Disconnect Zwift Click V2 and your trainer from ROUVY.
  2. Connect them to the Zwift app.
  3. Disconnect the Click and your smart trainer from Zwift.
  4. Reconnect everything back to ROUVY.
After following these steps, the buttons should work again.

We know it’s not ideal and really appreciate your patience while we work on a more permanent fix.
Best regards/ S pozdravem,

Looks like the end of an era - farewell to old Bkool.

It served me well for over 10 years, and I must have been one of the lucky one's, as I never really had any problems with the app. I tried Zwift for a spell and never got on with it, so will be a little sad to see it go.

Now for Rouvy - I see many of the old team have moved over and started racing on Thusdays with a Saturday rerun (thanks to Randy) - just like the old days.

I'd like to get involved just to keep my fitness up, so what do I need to do. I foind the Cyclechat Yellowstone rerun event and joined that event, so is it just a matter of loading that event from my calendar prior to 5pm (GMT), and I will be able to see you all on the start line. Do I need to get rid of he 3 default ghosts that heve riding on all the routes I have ridden so far.

Glad you are joining us! For some reason, I don't understand the Calendar does not appear in the app. I have asked the Rouvy Help desk what the point of it is, and have yet to have a reply. You need to go to Events, and you should see the Rerun there. There will be no ghosts, and the number of other racers may be limited; hopefully, you will have some company!

Hey Dave,

I just sent a friend request in Rouvy. Then you should get invited. I’ve added you to the spreadsheet.
Don’t forget that Yellowstone is a beautiful place and best enjoyed at a leisurely pace. Slow down and smell the bison.

Edit. Like you I’ve never had a problem with Bkool. I’ll miss it.

Rod - Thanks for the info. I found the Calendar in the app through Menu>Riders Profile.

Cheers Randy - I've accepted the request and I think I'll have plenty of time to take in the scenery.
