So Stig is the only one up Ventoux so far. Beat my best time from early in the year too so looks like I have the right ghost to go up against tonight or tomorrow .

Not sure when to do this, its getting serious.. even been checking the weather as last time i got overheated !!:sun:

Also realised i had bloody ghosts turned off on d'heux, couldn't understand why it was so lonely!!

Thanks Lars. It nearly killed me to be honest. By the end I was finished and I think I only held off Juanjo by using the Scovsgaard slingshot on that second last small hill that seemed to put me a minute ahead. Then he just didn't have quite enough time to pull me in. It was a lot tougher than I expected when I saw there were no green jerseys there.
Just saw the results page there. Didn't realise you'd won Bill. :bravo: Nice one!

How do you turn ghosts on? I setup a ride the other night and thought i added in ghosts but when i rode it i ended up on my own and after 9 miles gave up as got bored.

Thanks Rick. Our previous nights ride paid off I think.
The result figures are interesting because they show that actually Juanjo should have won if you just consider power and weight. My technique of powering up and freewheeling down the hills meant that with more weight and less power I was able to get the advantage.
No such advantage available on a mountain goat ride though.

For league runs I'm pretty sure you cant add ghosts - settings are all locked in by the League creator. Suppose it stops people from adding ghosts to draft etc..

Not sure it did for me! ^_^ I didnt warm up enough and felt my right knee a bit funny afterwards - been feeling the slightest of numb pains in it since. Nothing major but definitely my body trying to tell me something - Too many :birthday:

I definitely dont warm-up enough before rides - how much do you guys do before taking on a stage? I know we weren't racing the other night, so I shouldnt have been strained, but from the start go it didnt feel right. :girldance:

Well done there Bill! :notworthy:

Rick, I always warm up unless I have just rushed in from the commute by bike. I learn't my lesson when new to bkool on i think bloody Alp D'huez :blush:As you know, barely an opportunity to warm up on that one. If i don't then i do end up with a worrying niggle, sometimes pain behind my right knee. Its different to the usual aches and pains from cycling and acts as a warning.

Nearly done with the loft:smile: Only issue now is the old bike keeps throwing chain off when drop down to the 34 and when go up to the 50 but only when i am mid range on the rear cassette-not at extremes. No amount of fiddling will resolve so off to lbs to get sorted. I think front mechanism may be bent. More money  Still weekend looking great weatherwise so Ventoux may have to wait a few days:okay:

Sorry Rick. I forgot to mention that as soon as you joined the ride I was still pedalling but bkool started the countdown anyway. I almost aborted so we could get a warmup but thought we'd be ok as we wouldn't be giving it the max. Given the chance I usually give it the full 10 minutes.

No worries man. Thought I'd just cut it very fine to join in! Wasnt at Max but have to say I wasnt that far off it at times to keep that steady pace! ^_^

Well I'm about to indulge in Ventoux in 10mins if you fancy joining at 6pm. ^_^We'll be trying to chase down the stig this time though.^_^
BTW I'm not hopeful in seeing you there .

Well, no longer. I just finished Ventoux and it was torture in its purest form:B)
Btw, it's still complaining about my weight.

Ive found the time sometimes goes a bit mad, it seems to use the splits to re calibrate as you go along.

a 7.5 average is going to be over an hour as the course is 7.9 miles long.

Another thing it may be is your kickr, thats the only other difference i can see to anyone else. it could be that the bkool software needs to calculate post ride?

Im clutching at straws a bit but thats the only factors that are different that i can see
Hmm, I'll try a run up with the splits removed. That should be easy enough to set up. I guess I should have paid more attention to the wall clock to verify the 52:22 time in the simulator actually matched the time riding. Hmm, I guess I can just turn on the garmin, to track the data from the kickr independently from bkool.

I know that when I finished d'Huez both times I didn't feel as wiped as expected. Alpe d'Huez and LittleC are comparable in their length, average grade & total climb (7.6mi@8.6% 3470ft vs 8.5mi@7.5% 3320ft). I'm hitting 1:16 on LittleC, so the simulator time for d'Huez just doesn't match reality. The "adjusted" time on the web site (for lack of a better term) of 1:19 for d'Huez is a reasonably accurate estimate.

If indeed it is the splits, then I'd hazard a guess that anyone going slower than the splits is getting some kind of estimated time out of bkool. In which case I'd suggest removing the splits. I'd rather get the full grind rather than some shorter grind + an estimate to account for recalibration at the splits.

Bill, you need dragged behind a horse up the main street for choosing that course!!

I just finished Ventoux and it was torture in its purest form:B)

You're not wrong!!! I fell apart after an hour and had to fight off the VERY strong urge to quit every 30 seconds or so!! xx(

Easily the hardest thing I have ever tried on Bkool. :heat:

Fair play to you lot for keeping it lit the whole way up! :okay: (S'ok Bill I still love you really! :hugs:)

Whorty, if you put in a short dummy run up Dhuez from the Leagues tab (a minute or two would do) I'll approve it as the time you've stated above 1 hour 22 and 1 second. That'll save you doing it again and you'll be able to put all your effort into Ventoux ;)
I did half the ride on the 18th, could you use that? Or do I need to do a new one?

I'll have a go at Ventoux this weekend .. although at 21km it could take me 3 hours :eek::eek::hyper:

I know I do Rick, but it was someone else who suggested it! Honest! I think it was Darryn in fact. And the joke is on us because there's no sign of him now .

Yes, also the hardest ride I've done too.

I'm impressed you got stuck straight into it tonight Rick and a good time too. You have more weight, although at this rate you'll be losing a few kg. I'm already losing some after turning things up a notch the past week or so.

:hugs::hugs::blush::blush: :laugh:
