Any preferences in what kind of rides I pick for the mountain goats for January?
Choices are:
1/ Less than an hour steep climb all the way.
2/ Less than an hour but some downhill.
3/ Well over an hour steep climb all the way.
4/ Well over an hour but with some downhill & flat.

If you pick 3/ there will be some seriously badass climbs.

I'm ok with just over an hour, not fussed about downhills.

I can cope with longer routes if there's some restbite! So 1 and 4. Don't mind 2 either.:becool:

If you do any from option 3 I won't chicken out though :ninja:

Is it too late to change my reply? I just finished the Prueba ride in 1:48 and that is about my limit. I almost gave up on the last mile....that is one tough ride.

1 or 4 for me please Bill. Both good preparation for lots of 3's in the next league perhaps?

I have been thinking about warm up rides as well, especially with the starts going wrong at the moment. I don't find 10 minutes is long enough anyway especially when we have to speed down after 9 mins to avoid being stuck at the start. A bit cheeky perhaps but how about also setting up an accompanying league warm up ride available say an hour before the league run? Something we can all dip into without searching for warm up rides before hand. To make it asker it could even be the same ride each time. In fact I might just suggest to bkool they make a series of warm up rides available and easily accessible.

Completed the last Goat ride today (Tourmalet Por St Marie De Campan) - 1hr 11min, 54 secs :wahhey: Pre race I would have been happy with 1 1/2 hours, but as the ride went on I thought 1hr 20 mins would be a good time. Felt OK on the hill though so managed to bring that down to 1hr 12 mins - woo hoo!

A nice target on my back for fellow Mooses to shoot at

I should say ... I did get a helping hand today. The wife gave me a polka dot jersey for Christmas, and that clearly gave me an extra boost up those hills LOL
