I've move down to the shorter audax ride on saturday, so only about 93 miles in total (i may round up to the ton), so I might possibly put in an appearence, but not sure I would put in a good time. If it does work out to be a tougher ride now, I'm sure Geoff will amend last years time appropriately. I think i would be approx the same time as Adam puts in, so happy to start with him in the handicap race, based on whatever his new time is.

for Adam's eye's only *** dont put in a quick one now ***
I checked the route for your Saturday Audax. Looks interesting but I'm not yet up to that sort of distance at this time of year.

Just one concern...it goes down Red Lane from Padworth Common to Aldermaston. Last week the 'Road Closed' signs were still up, as they have been for months.

Looking forward to tonights ride (wow its hard to type with gloves on BTW) I was 'fitted' to my bike last week so am interested to see if it makes any difference. Its also the longest ride I've done on the BKOOL so it's 'fun' all the way. See you in there.... until I'm spec in your mirrors.

just done a warm up elsewhere and feeling a bit rough, I'm in the ride, but wont be doing anything special, it seems the whole family is feeling a bit sick.

It's brutal at the front... :ninja:

It sure was, the 3 front runners laying down big watts. Everyone else also seemed to be 200w plus much of the time too. Respect to all.

Tried to get Bill to speed up by offering alcohol...think he may have decided to preserve his energy near the end.

Looking at heart rates, two guys are currently riding together and nearly at the finish.

One has a heart rate of 182 bpm, the other is 116 bpm.

I think the latters HRM must be malfunctioning, I can barely get on my bike without my heart rate passing 116 bpm.

Poor old Roleur disappeared while I was recording him, and then started again right from the beginning. Still at it and 15 minutes to go.

Thanks for the heads up, I hadn't look at the route in detail. Hopefully they have a diversion on the route card. I'm not too worried about the distance, as the average speed will be low, but I've decided to ride to the start and then back home adding on another 28 miles.

I recorded it for a while ... https://www.dropbox.com/s/nasndft2d1ubdcp/Bkool Indoor 03_03_16 19_10_43.mp4?dl=0

Watched CXRAndy start on the KICKR and struggle up to speed, then switched to the brutal battle at the front, and finally did some analysis of the descent speeds of the front runners on the steep downhill gradients. Tried to see what affect the high speed drafting had on wattage and heart rate, but it is tricky to see an obvious affect.

Definitely brutal. Having fallen behind he front guys near the start I'd hoped to draft most of it with Roleur but I think he had connection problems.

That's the second group ride in a row that the software's let me down - last time it wouldn't save the ride, this time wouldn't let me start it! Went and did a shorter ride on my own in the end. Couldn't even spectate until closing the app and restarting a couple of times, then it did eventually seem to start working again. So annoying.

I will have to do the re-run as I have done the ride already but I was taking it easy - not done it at full effort yet!
