There has been a bit of a Goat Cull this morning.

I removed members who have never posted here and who have never put in a time in any of the leagues. If this included anyone it wasn't supposed to then apologies and let me know so I can add you back in.

Also there are some new requests to join so please let me know who you are:

Alex forrest

Thanks.

Hurry as the new league will start this weekend
I'm quite happy being 5th out of 18 of us, me being a part time cyclist and all

Hi Monte, have to say you kept me motivated trying to catch you. We mustn't be too far apart on ability. Pity you had you drop out as it was harder to keep the motivation going! Don't think I'll be there again Saturday. Twice in a week is enough for that course.!!

Blueface - yeah I was struggling and I saw you catching me, so I thought let you catch up and I we can work together - then you dropped me on the climb and then I was disturbed by a visitor. Im up for riding the same course, be nice if you are about on Saturday as we could work together as the front group were in a different league than i'm in.

Thanks again everyone, loving the BKOOL.

Ooooooo.... dont know about trying that again - thought I was pushing it doing it twice! If I dont get out on Saturday morning I may well turn up at 5pm. Will keep you posted.

I did think that I caught you a bit quickly - bit rude of me to push on then wasnt it?

No bloody wonder I got dropped on the descents, it doesn't free wheel at all on the KICKR! :cursing:

Please can someone try an experiment for me on a Bkool Pro (and the Elite would be interesting) when they are next on the simulator.

Schedule a steep descent such as the Descenso Alpe d'Huez

http://www.bkool.com/profile/detail/129022?durationType=DISTANCE&lapCount=1

Then try soft pedalling on the steep downhill (say -10% right near the start) and see what speed it gets to and if the speed indicator goes blue.

I tried this just now with the KICKR and it just sat at zero miles an hour on the start line, and when I soft pedalled at a few watts (with my hands) it barely moved, no acceleration down the decline as you would expect. On my Bkool Pro it would accelerate up to 30-40 mph, on the KICKR it sat at 3mph.

There's my excuse sewn up!

Geoff

I spent last night pricing 53 chainrings because on the downhill my watts drop to nothing no matter how hard I pedal. I'm a masher not a spinner and I thought it would give me a boost. Then I got side tracked into upgrading to 22 speed or a very desperate move of losing weight.

Reported to Bkool about the splits being wrong and the times showing as zero and they said they are aware of this and hope for a fix soon.

Also about the KICKR spinning down slowly and often not registering as not pedalling (they have forwarded this to their developers hoping to fix in the future). Just had it again, had to pedal and stop three times to get session started.

And thirdly about the KICKR not rolling down hills, for which they asked me to check my weight setting!

Usual support response, I guess, so I have emailed back saying my weight is correct and I expect that they will forward that and fix it at some time in the future, perhaps.

Bit of a pain, perhaps until then I should stick to Mountain Goat climbs, where there are no descents ...

Who's running it and is it still 5pm ?

Hope to see you there Rayvon. Looks like I'm starting it off at 5:00pm with a 10 min. warm up session. Anyone struggling to find it, just use the filter and type in Jurassic and it should pop right up.

Randy, I think this might be tyre related. I had terrible problems on the downhills and flat sections before I changed my tyre. The old one was sticking to the roller so on the fast bits there was too much friction to register a decent power. The faster the roller went the more power was required to overcome the friction. And don't even get me started on how it was on FTP tests. That's how the Mountain goats started. I could only do the up-hills.

My speed never turns blue either. Never has as far as I am aware.

Adam. Are you thinking of doing the Los Olmos last goat stage? You're 4th and will stay 4th whatever. Well done for that. I'll close the league if everyone's finished and we can get the new one started.

Thanks, I'm using a continental gator skin hard shell. I'll try another one.

No, close it if you like Bill. Let's get the new one up. I want as many as possible to complete the Alpe d'Huez run, and then I can work out time differences and will set a time and date for the handicap run.

Thanks Adam. Will do. And Alpe d'Huez will be the first one. It's going to be fun
