Skovsgaard is going to be tough. He's a watt monster but also weighing 103 kg, so on hills our watt/kg rate should bring us up faster. The question is if there's enough hills in the league stages. In the next stage "Oak Flat" we should be able to gain significant time on him. I'm not shure BKool share that theory though.
I challenged him in "VOJNIK-DRAMLJE-PONIKVA" a few days ago and was 20 seconds ahead before the final hill, which was also the one with the highest %. This one is a wrap I thought:becool:...I'm going to take at least another minute on him before we reach the top. But a few seconds into the climb he passed me so fast that I barely saw him. A few seconds later he was ½ minute ahead. At the top he was 1:10 ahead of me. WTF just happened there?
Agree with this LB. Skovsgaard is the one I least expect to be able to stay with. In fact I had previously challange him to the same stage you did and experienced almost exactly what you did. I was well out of energy by the time we got to that final hill but I thought with my lower Weight and 10 second advantage that I'd be able to stay ahead of him. Not a chance! His momentum up the hill was far too good and he just blasted past and gained over a minute on me by the end. I see you did a slightly better job of staying with him than I did which is expected with your better power to weight.
As you say though - WTF did just happen???

Don't know what's up but I just don't feel I'm holding the watts as well these past 4 or 5 weeks.

My main competition has been Corby. I had a couple of minutes on him, til last week when I dropped over 4 minutes to him in two sessions:sad: he's too strong. I have to draft to get near his times these days.

Actually I've noticed his times have been very close to yours recently Bill. Maybe he's drafting your ghosts!
Rick, sounds like it's just been a low tyre pressure issue for you and you're now back on Corbys case. I did also notice his times were right up with mine on last two rides which coincide with my new vibrating unit. I am well down in speed on those runs and it's definitely me slower rather than others faster. I'm sure it's just the new unit though with the vibration causing a power/speed problem so looking forward to getting a new unit soon hopefully.

I am going to have another go at Oak flat over the weekend. If anyone wants to join in let me know. Perhaps we can challenge Corby and then draft each other in turn to give Rick a chance of a nibble? It could be like Sir Wiggins setting up Cavendish on the The Avenue des Champs-Élysées^_^ I wouldn't mind improving my 28m 37 if possible and finally have an Uber fan arriving to keep me cool:dance:

Sorry. On my phone I thought you were 7th

Go Rick go! Monte held up the CC banner on Tuesday.

Out tonight so can only wish you good luck Rick!
Thanks guys, saw Monte on the track there too.

Came 4th and set a GBR record time for 60 laps and I think averaging over 330 watts. Well chuffed! Bit different than back in February when I took 6 minutes longer to do the 60 laps!

Awwwww... sounds ideal EXCEPT I'm taking the better half away for the weekend so no Bkooling for me :hello: Maybe Monday? Dont let me stop you though as I'm going to be tight getting all the rides completed at this rate! :okay:

Corby has over 4 minutes on me - I pulled nearly 3 minutes back last time with no drafting. BUT this is a climbing stage so drafting will only help slightly and the man puts out serious watts on hills somehow but on the rolling hills he isnt so strong. Hard one to judge :becool:

I gave it a good push, Slightly different approach tonight - aimed to keep my avg wattage around 250 and keeping the legs fresh until the end, however didn't work out that way got dicing with Oscar P and he nipped me at the end as I ran out of legs.

Kudos to Rick, you're cycling very strong.
