Hi Rick, Ryan is a friend of mine. I'm not sure if he's on here, but he got his bkool a few weeks back and is a regular user. Does he need to be in this cycle chat to join mountain goats? If so, let me know and I'll contact him and let him know. Cheers
Hi Hazie. Seeing as Ryan is a pro (green) I think he's going to have to post here otherwise we'll be getting our ar5es kicked by someone we can't even congratulate or otherwise verbally abuse. I suggest asking him to post here.

Just did Alp........53m 46s and a marked improvement of over 10 mins. Very happy.
 I've just beaten my previous best by 3mins which I did before the Summer kicked in ........ and I'm still 1min 20 behind you Bob! I need another 10 watts from somewhere! :training: :bicycle::pump:

Still happy with the progress - 3 minutes is a fair chunk of time - but nowhere near your improvement of 10 mins!! :notworthy:

Managed my first attempt of alpe d'Huez. Longest i have managed on an indoor ride and was strangely enjoyable. Miles off the first two times but happy enough. Can i just check that i have done it right as i don't seem to appear in the league? Thanks

Scott. sometimes the league results get automatically put in a holding area for review and acceptance by admin if the bkool system thinks that one of the readings it took of the ride was outside of what was expected. This happens all the time so as long as the ride has been completed then admin will always approve it.
It goes straight to the stage result but going to the overall league result seems to take the system a few hours.
Glad you found it to be strangely enjoyable because I only felt the pain and suffering yesterday. :heat:

I don't know if you remember me asking about a clicking noise on my bkool trainer and as to whether any of you had the same issue.
Well the noise came and went so I carried on using it thinking it must be normal.
So today, I decided to do stage 1 of the mountain goats league, Alpe d'Huez. All was going well until I got to about a third of the way up.
Thats when the clicking noise started again, followed by a loud noise. Now the trainer won't budge an inch.....seized up.
I've had a sneaky look inside and found a screw had come loose on one of the internal parts and has scorched the side of the silver discs.
Anyway, long story short, the trainer is getting sent back to Wiggle for repair/replace.
Question tho......
Have any of you had to return the trainer to wiggle, and if so, whats the process if the item is a couple of months old?
Also, theres a lesson there for anyone else.
If you experience a clicking noise, then theres a good chance the trainer had a loose part on the inside.

Hazie,

I returned mine to wiggle when it was ten months old, they sent it to the importer who did nothing, kept the pressure on wiggle and they eventually refunded me. They seems pretty good, the importer not so.

Hi Bill , I managed to complete the first Mountain Goat League ride , Alpe De Huez and my result isn`t
showing in either my history or the league standings, I`m hoping.....REALLY hoping the system hasn`t
lost it in cyberworld!! That was my first attempt at Huez and just like everyones been saying, it hurts!!
At the moment only 3 people, you Bill, Ryan and Scott are showing in the league standings when I log
in, is that the same for everyone or is my league gone for a break somewhere?
Also some advice needed please, when I finished the ride the tyre I`m using at the moment is a normal
road tyre (I changed from a trainer tyre due to getting punctures) and the road tyre was very warm and
had taken a lot of wear, lots of rubber particles everywhere, is this normal on the mountain rides?

I reckon 3 mins after your recent Herculean summer efforts is a cracking improvement Rick. I also reckon there's more to come.

I put much of mine down to technique learnt from posts by Bill and Geoff. I spent 90% of the time in the saddle trying to push my arse back as far as possible:blush: if I got it right I was consistently in excess of 300w, if not then 280ish. Occasionally I tried to clear muscle niggles or lactate by climbing out of the saddle but then the watts plummet before recovering. Your technique might be better but if not have a look at that and see what happens.

That's exactly the same thing that happened to me on my attempt on Alpe d'Heuz - I have also noticed that it was very hot and has scorched part of the flywheel. I took it apart and had a quick look and all seems ok. Will try the climb again tomorrow night...

Ditto. Wiggle refunded me no problem. They didn't even insist on sending it to the importer first. Actually I ended up buying again direct from bkool. I still cant help thinking that wiggle got a bad batch from bkool. That could be totally wrong of course.
