You're all sorted now Whorty .
Cheers - much appreciated.

And I'm top 10 on the Mount Ventoux ride ... it was worth the pain today :heat:

No worries Whorty.
It's also worth knowing that any mountain goats in the league who don't complete a stage will have the slowest riders time + 5%.:giggle:
And it wasn't me that made up the rules:tongue:

Or on the tandem again. (I tried to add a smiley face but it didn't work)
Tandem up Ventoux, now there's an idea! Perhaps not, it only has a big ring. I'm out of step with what you guys are doing, is there a weekly session if so on what days or does everyone make there run when they can?

New to Bkool. Bought two trainers, one for my wife. They are set up in the same room. Does anyone know how to set it up so we can ride together? Thanks!

It seems to me in the mountain goat league everyone pretty much does the ride solo. The multiplayer cycle chat chain gang hasn't started up yet for this year. In the past it was Thursday nights (UK time) with a rerun on Saturday, but now Bkool themselves have Tuesday and Thursday multiplayer races.
Also starting next week the top 100 climbs UK.

I don't know about you guys, but I work shifts and this almost completely rules out me joining a race at a specific weekly time. Riding the routes solo is probably the only way I'll be able to complete the rides in the leagues and such.

I took your advice.
I ordered the trainer from bkool themselves this time. Should be here in the next 7 days, fingers crossed. Hope it's from a good batch.
Should be back in the mountain goats fairly soon, are the different stages still available to complete for any set period of time?
Cheers Bill

So my Alpe d'Huez problems were either the built-in splits or sync-ups with the video. Not sure which. Went up again today with a time more like what i expected 1:23, which also happens to be between the two estimated times from bkool. Bad tail-off around an hour and an much more appropriate level of suffering.

Next up, Ventoux, which looks mighty painful.

Jeff

ps. Removing splits is somewhat of a pain. If you remove them all, they just seem to come back. What worked best was to keep just one single point and just make it a point of interest.

I've gone for wiggle to exchange my trainer, I've got everything crossed that it's ok and that I haven't opened up a can of worms. Never thought I would hear myself saying I'm missing my turbo trainer...

You'll be needing two complete setups I'd reckon. No way of sharing any aspect of it. will there not be ant+ confusion between the two set ups? The ant+ dongle doesn't use anything to link it to a specific trainer does it. Would have thought the two systems would get confused between each other.

Well that hurt :B). I tried an experiment with the software outside the league (because it is manipulating the system at best ). Although it helped, it only showed the same speed as the garmin @ <7% grades. Which on the Alpe d'Huez are rare birds. :banghead:

I managed to complete the session in 2:05:15, about as tired as I have ever been after riding the bike.

I will undo what I have done, but I will not be attempting any of the mountain goat rides again:surrender: At least not until I am a lot lighter and can get a more realistic speed display. :bicycle:
You're right. It's not realistic to keep motivation with the time it takes to complete stages.

Bill, Rick
What about a handicap system that would enable heavier persons, or persons with a low FTP to complete stages within a reasonable time. If it is possible to edit the division number, persons who choose to use the handicap system would have their own division number.
The simplest system I can think of would be to just enter half ones weight.
