The other thing is that even when you're in warmup mode the ride clock and distance appear to be ticking over. Anyone else get this?

I have a few more days to trial this so I need to make a decision to keep it or not..

many thanks! Keep on spinning....
I think that's normal - I recall seeing the distance going up during warm up. Once you start the stage it goes back to zero but on comp!etion of a stage it includes warm up and cool down in your time so you have to go into the ride stats to see the actual stage time.

I agree with Rob that bkool have moved on well in the past year and I find it much better to work with now. Still, there's things I'd like to see added, but it really is an incredible system for the money.

Hej LBHIFI
I have done Sa Calobra in 33:43 and Alpe d`huez a couple of times in about in hour but it was in La Marmotte were I was pretty tired
Thats not fair. I did the Alpe without a warmup, so of course your time is faster .

Any one else got a Power meter?

after i did my session i thought id play with the settings and i found that Bkool was picking it up, i need to experiment but it looks like you can use a PM now to get readings....
You can use your powermeter, but it will take away the adjustable resistance aspect of the trainer. I inflate the tyre to the same pressure each time (100psi for me), use the Bkool trainer for power/adjustable resistance, and then use a Garmin head unit to check the power from my Power2Max against the Bkool readings.

Has anyone ever participated in the "challenges" from Bkool? There is one scheduled for today at 18.00 CET: http://us6.campaign-archive2.com/?u=79fc4556b85780732c939aa3b&id=dad3922431&e=4762d587d2

Also: How do you guys train?
I mostly do running and cycling every other time, 3-4 times a week, and switch between long very low intensity sessions and shorter high intensity ones.

The "problem" is Bkool... hehe. It is so fun doing the famous climbs etc. and doing leagues so every time I am on the Bkool I tend to want to give it all I have, which I thought was not "optimal"...

Morning all! 1st message on the forum so thought I'd say hi.

I was riding a stage of the vuelta last night and the video froze but everything appeared to carry on normally behind the freeze. Does this happen often as a couple of my first test rides had issues as well when I first rec'd the trainer. is it just down to Internet speed. I live in a village and only get max of 2mb at best.
Hi Timmers.
This is completely normal with the video's. I don't think I've ever seen one of the videos run all the way through without freezing (sometimes for a long time) although as you noticed everything runs normally in the background so no problem really. I think most of us do the 3D rides which are computer generated as opposed to being video and I've never experienced and freeze up with those, although sometimes some out of phase glitches seem to creep in when taking part in a multi user race organised by bkool.

My week currently consists of, Mon, Wed, Fri, Couch to 5k with the wife. Tues is mountain goat stage, Thursday is 100 league rides (2 or 3 depends how I feel!), Saturday = club ride (50 - 60 miles), Sunday is out with son / club breakfast ride (20 - 40 ish miles). The couch to 5k is fairly easy, although I am no runner, so I class these as rest days :-)

Cheers Bill and to everyone else that commented as well.

So when you chaps do your Mountain Goat rides they are in 3d? I assumed they were video? I'll give the 3d a go......cheers

I did d'Huez with the video without any freezes, I only use 3d for the group rides / races. I do have BT Infinity 2, so 76mb download.

Ermmm.. Not sure looking at that. Looks different than when I last looked at mine but it looks like you're on 3.6.

We've done a lot of those races. Been some issues with the starts recently but generally they are great fun. Always someone new to chase or try to stay ahead of.

Training: no plan as such, just go mad on bkool a couple or three times a week and occasionally get out for a longer run at the weekend. I'm a fairly casual cyclist doing it more to keep in shape rather than any particular cycling goal. Starting to realise I can't go flat out all the time though!

I've done about 5 rides so far.

1 read very high. Almost 50w higher in average, and I can't work it out, but that's the downside to having plug and play power/virtual power as opposed to ones which you can calibrate or reset the slope. The rest of the rides have been within 2w average power, which is insanely accurate. DCRainmaker found similar on his blog, and was equally impressed.

Well that's new to me. I logged on to bsim and was welcomed by a messaged about updating my trainer firmware. I accepted the update and off it went. Unfortunately the update failed.

Bkool classic pre August 2014, with usb connector for updates.
Pre update firmware : 1.13
Update firmware : 2.04
Failure message
Trainer firmware update error (0xffffffff)
Trainer was not updated.

Now what do I do?

Hi...I'm being needy i'm sorry. Anybody else have a WAHOO RPM Cadence Sensor and using it with a BKOOL PRO?
I'm having a connection issue and when it does show up in the app it's reading way lower than it should be. Is there a correct placement for the BKOOL ant+ dongle so it connects to the trainer, your HRM and cadence sensor please?

cheers
