Tacx Neo feedback - really nice trainer, very accurate stats...

Stop it Monte! It is hugely expensive but strangely attractive. And I wouldnt have to worry about loosing power on out of the saddle efforts :okay:

Used the tacx Neo on a BKOOL stage I've done so I could compare and the power figures are very accurate but the speed I thought was generous on the bkool, just done a couple of laps on zwift and I would get dropped on the uphills & downhills and would flog myself to keep up on the flats using the bkool trainer but the Tacx felt very realistic and took over 5 minutes out of my bkool time. The last Bkool firmware is definitely out for us heavier riders... I would be very un-competitive as it is on the bkool online.

What do you sit ur laptop on?. I'll be using mine in the garage

Is a laptop preferable rather than an iPad?

Cheers

What I have noticed though...since the neo has arrived the kickr has dropped in price...I've seen a few early head to heads between the 2 and it looks like the neo could be the new king....I'll stick with my kickr though....spend to much as it is on cycling and techy stuff lol

Who's up for a pre-chain gang race this Thursday?
I think last year we discussed when most people would be likely to be able to take part and the conclusion was Thursday at 7pm. This is where we get as many of us as possible on this forum to race head to head at the same time on a 3D course. This one will be just so we can get used to it before the league starts. There will be a password to enter the session and you will find it in the Leagues Tab in bsim. It will start at 7pm (to be discussed further and confirmed in case it is not convenient for most people) where there will be a 10 minute warm up to give everyone a chance to join. Countdown will go down to zero.
Slipstreaming is actively encouraged as this is fun and takes some skill. We will pick much flatter rides so the light guys won't be powering away up the hills (not mentioning any names;)) and the races will hopefully be close.
So who can make it on Thursday at 7pm? Feel free to suggest an alternative time.
In future it will be in the form of a league where we try to make the Thursday race but the stages can also be done any other time just like the mountain goats.
Please post if you can make it or not. Thanks.

Sounds good!
Count me in. If it was possible to make it 7:30 that would suit me better but if the majority prefer 7 then I should be ok most weeks. I'm also up for a race on Tuesdays if that suited.

Ps. A hilly stage would be cool too!

Commencing 26th October - End of November

Proposed Races: Thursdays at 7pm (with at least one rerun)

Courses will be varied with a mixture of flat / slight downhills plus some climbs for good measure which should mean that everyone has a section that will play to their own strengths.

If the sensor is pair with the Bkool sim, then the stars will appear in Bkool and Strava.
@nilsn74 Tried to pair a combined Garmin speed and cadence sensor today to get correct cadence readings, but when trying to pair the Bkool disappeared. Any suggestions why? Could it be that the speed sensor messed it up and you need a dedicated cadence sensor only? Other reasons?
