I was 6 seconds behind Paul in the 1st Moose ride tonight. Kev is leading Paul by 36 seconds. (My ride not showing in the league yet).

It's a flattish course but quite tiring none-the-less.
Whorty it looks like we are similarly matched on a bunch of rides!

Is it worth a seperate thread for moose's ?

I noticed that I'm still over a minute off your best time for that course Bill. Guess I was lucky to catch you on an off night! :becool:

Interesting! I don't know if it was because tonight was an off night or if its because the faster time was on my old trainer. We'll see what happens on Saturday.

LB I thought you had it cracked at first with the new tyre but as things progressed I could see that it was not the case. At least you'll still beat us on the hills though with the power you make.
I almost thought so myself. I did a Velodrome warm-up, and pushing 300 watt there was hard but not at all impossible. I swear, 300 watt on the straights in the race felt like bodybuilding :training:. I could only do that for 30 seconds a time. So the problem seem to be triggered by changes in gradients.

My replacement trainer definitely makes me slower, I have a 20 mile training loop that I do and I'm 5 minutes slower on my new trainer.

Unfortunately I think it's probably the same for me or a combination of the two as my legs were hurting a bit more than usual. I'm going to have to try this again with fresher legs to find out for sure. Might have to add in a bit of drafting too as it was the bkool summer cup so will perhaps try challenging my ghost from the previous time. My fitness is probably very similar so this might give an answer for my case at least. Don't know if you think you'd come to any logical conclusions by trying something similar.

Continuing to play with slack, I've created channels for mountain goats, mooses, the chain gang as well as one for us to post other rides were doing. Another channel is linked to a google calendar which I'll populate with scheduled rides and it should send notification reminders.

Drop me a message via start conversation with your email address to join.

Also for the newer members of this forum, there is a Bkool cycle chat Strava club if you're interested

I'm just after a bit of advice about joining Groups/Leagues. I requested to join the Chain Gang Group the other day and the process seems to be stuck in 'Your request has been processed'. I also joined the Mountain Moose Group and that seemed to go through OK, as I can see that Group in the My Group section on the Bkool website, but can't see the Chain Gang Group.

Probably user error, but any help would be great.

Cheers, Dave

Thanks Rick, no problem..
I did manage to find my way around the system and watched you all perform on the scheduled ride last night - very impressive, and well done. Looking forward to joining in the future but will be trailing in well behind, but you've got to give it a go after forking out for machine in the first place.
