I tried to do the Bkool race tonight and must have entered an event that started a couple of mins earlier as when I finished there was another version with 40+ riders still going. Won my 1st event though!

I think that is a first (apart from chain gang races of course)
You deserve your pat on the back Rick. Nice big buffer between you and the pack.

Jonbon. Brilliant and well deserved win!!! I tried to pull you in on numerous occasions but you had an answer each time.:cycle:
Altogether now.....

I have a classic on 2.04 firmware now. It is a totally different animal to the 1.13 firmware that was there before.

The power I get on screen is maybe 10-20 watts different, higher, to the power meter I have, it has a greater difference the flatter it is, this is similar to before. But the way it handles various situation is way different.

The transitions in gradient are a little smoother and but the momentum side is a lot better for me. I tend to carry a higher speed at the start of climbs for a greater distance than before. I can now climb better as it is saying I am doing 5mph when I am doing 5mph, not the 1.8mph I was getting previously at max resistance. Lastly it is reading a lot closer to actual wheel speed in nearly all situations barring the decents, I have seen some silly speeds in blue there.

I am liking the current firmware and may not update if asked to do so in future for fear of losing what I have gained. ^_^

I challenged one of your rides tonight, and I must say I really struggled on the descents against you - I had silly blue speeds, so I hate to think how fast you was going!! On the flats we were very close; it was only the ascents where I had a slight advantage. 6 second difference .... your ghost pushed me hard and I was sweating like a pig by the end of it :heat:

Hi Leon

I see that Rick already let you in.
I'm new at all this admin stuff, so I don't know if you were let in UK top 100 as well.
If you weren't before, you should be now, Welcome:welcome:

I better check what seems to be other pending request...anyone here called:

- iñaki andueza elso
- Gez Gould
- Tom Andersen
- Ciclos Collado
- miguel gonzalez
- Tony mason
- Andrew Croxall
- Michael Bogdan
- WellnessMan
- Jakob Kriegbaum
- RunExeter

I have seen the name "RunExeter" here for a long time. RunExeter, are you a member of "Top 100(ish) Climbs UK", or is Bkool admin interface playing tricks on me?

As I said previously, I have to take advantage of my inbuilt momentum generation ability (aka excess weight) because the up hills are where I get caned.

The last 2 T100 sessions I have done have really surprised me in how quick I have been. I put that down to the new firmware, tbh, as my ftp has not gone up that much.

It is not too nice to know I now have a target on my back  :stop: ^_^

LOL

You was my target tonight as I wanted to complete the ride in 20 mins and your time was that. I was hoping to use your ghost as a pacer but our techniques were so wildly different that it was more a problem with your ghost there  1 point you're 1 minute ahead, the next I'm 2 minutes ahead, then we finish almost together! Made me push extra hard though towards the end.

Looking forward to Thursday's ride. Hopefully my legs will have recovered enough

Just looked up the ride. I was pretty much on it from the get go. It was one of the first rides properly on the new firmware. :becool:

Work has stopped me getting on the trainer for a while but I chased a few of your ghosts up city creek canyon this afternoon. I was really close to Kipster for most of it and the you, cyclick62 and runar all smashed past me in the last mile! Well done to all-perhaps I need to join the mooses....

Bsim then seemed to die so had a go at the free trial of Zwift-I thought it was going to be boring but it was very social and the sprints etc kept it interesting. I do wish Bkool would up their game

Well done to the racers this evening!

Well I hope mine sorts itself out...been in touch with bkool...think they'll need to dial in...

That's where I ended up - that was exactly the same that was happening to me. I could hardly get to 200 watts, and certainly couldn't hold in for long...

A short term solution whilst I was waiting for BKOOL, I'm 15 stone rider, I altered my weight to 13 stone and it made the trainer a lot more comparable (still wasn't right) but a lot better. When BKOOL dialled in to my system/trainer as far as I could tell they didn't actually do anything as the trainer was showing the latest firmware but what they did do was to delete my bsim software and re-installed it. The next time I went to use I was thinking they haven't changed anything and it will be the same but they proved me wrong. I think a few of us on here will admit the new trainer/firmware is a lot harder than previous, i'm about 5 minutes slower on a 20 mile training loop I do, but when I compare speeds with my garmin speed sensor my bkool is about .5mph slower than my garmin readings, which in my book is pretty good and accurate.

Will admit it does stress you out when you know it's not right and all you want to do is go bkool'ing...

Well done on your win :okay:
And Yes, confusingly... minutes before the Bkool event I saw at least 2 other rides starting that were the same course as the Bkool ride..
Why do people do that?

Yeah I tried the weight thing too....one thing I forgot about the bkool is how noisy it is

Yeah, very annoying that. Happens almost every time they hold an event. Some muppets think they have to look up the course and start it themselves - EVERYTIME!!!:ninja:

Lesson learnt. I'll be sure to return to menu if numbers seem low/ wrong in next event. Enjoyable regardless...had a decent scrap with front 2 for a while. Finished in 42 something. What was the Bkool top time out of interest?
