As I've been moaning about the lack of replacement Bkool Pro from Wiggle, I ought to report that........it has finally arrived :wahhey:

Here's hoping this one lasts more than 4 rides!

I will do my best to join you for the chaingang ride on Thursday

Nice one.

Bkool replied to my email immediately to offer collecting the resistance unit for repair. But no temporary replacement.
Im for doing the last 2 goats stages tonight from 7:30 if any one wants to join in. Starting with City Creek Canyon then Skenes Creek Road.
I'll put up with the noise and hope it doesn't seize up in the process just to get a placing in the overall goat league...Runar, BillS, and RickB - I've got targets painted on your backs. ;)

Nice to know
I better go now and put a time in for Skenes Creek Road so you'll have the option to select the target on my back ;)

:notworthy: Kudos to you Sir. I struggle at times with 2 legs :surrender:
Normally I'm ok on mountains not the quickest but not bad either but I'm struggling with injury and can't push at all on my right side, riding in cleats makes it easer to keep the pedals turning, but my left leg gets a pounding
Couldn't have gone on a very long ride though without my left leg giving up

Create a division for bkool only trainers - so you can see in the results who your true competitors are.

Great idea, we've sent this to the tech department who will see what they can do
I actually find that response surprising. I thought they would surely want to try to calibrate other trainers to behave the same as the bkool trainers.

At least they're talking now. I got a bit sharp on Facebook with them after yesterdays ride fiasco and sent the link of the thread listing faults/suggestions to them twice til they responded. Don't like to hound people but really was tired of nothing being sorted. The amount of failed trainers and software issues recently on here has been ridiculous, even though I have to say mines been all very solid for quite some time now

I was thinking (I know, not always a good thing) ... but could we do an handicap race somehow? I was thinking something like, setting all our power, artificially, to say 3watts per kilo weight.

So, if my FTP is 243, then I divide this by 3 to get my handicap weight. I need to update my 'weight' in BKool for the handicap race to 81kg

Someone with an FTP of 340 (say Ryan :notworthy:) would set his handicap weight to 113kg. A Moose with a current FTP of say 165 would set their handicap weight to 55kg. Obviously each person will have to work out their own handicap and be trusted to change their weight temporarily

Soooo, at the start of the race we would all be expecting to put out the same 3 watts per KG. Could be an interesting exercise/experiment. Would also mean that the handicap should keep most riders together for most of the race. Anyone for a Cav sprint finish?!?

Alpe d'huez might be 'nice' for this.
Am I talking rubbish? Or do I have a kind of plan? Anyone else up for it? We'd have to password the ride to stop others joining who haven't been handicapped :pump:

Just watched Irish Al do another two consecutive goat stages :notworthy:

Crazy power by my standards on both rides. Fighting for the lead against Ryan's ghost in the first then taking an easy win in the second. Impressive riding Al. That's serious fitness.

We had handicap races last year in a different form based on time. The slower riders would start off first and then the others would join at appropriate times, with the fastest start last. The idea was to try and finish together, it was good fun.
I did think of that, but then i was thinking you'd be riding on your own, but by trying to even the weights out we'd likely all be riding as a group. This assumes that BKool logic works as we all assume anyway  In theory, if we all ride to our 100% max we will all finish together ....
