I did think of that, but then i was thinking you'd be riding on your own, but by trying to even the weights out we'd likely all be riding as a group. This assumes that BKool logic works as we all assume anyway  In theory, if we all ride to our 100% max we will all finish together ....

I like the idea of this Whorty. We'd just have to work out which weight to apply to each fitness level for everyone in the league.
Lets see if we can get this together if there's enough interest.

I think if you just use your current FTP, divide by 3, then set the result as your weight in BKool. Each of us should then be pushing 3 watts per kilo in the ride. We will all be pushing the same watts as our FTPs, but the extra weight on the faster riders will slow them down (a lot!) I would think, and the lighter weights for the currently heavier riders should make them more goat like

It could work ... and if it does it could be a really exciting race. :bicycle:
I'm up for it ... anyone else?

Sat and watched you, if only I could produce those sorts of number, kudos....

Just watched Irish Al do another two consecutive goat stages :notworthy:

Crazy power by my standards on both rides. Fighting for the lead against Ryan's ghost in the first then taking an easy win in the second. Impressive riding Al. That's serious fitness.

Thanks Bill & Kipster. I had a set of hill repeat intervals to do hence why you might have seen the power numbers fluctuate so much - 1min Z5 followed by 3 mins 'recovery '

And unfortunately with power comes a shed load of burnt rubber...

Can we do this in between leagues as I don't fancy having to authorize every league ride when everyone changes weights during the middle of a league!

Really good idea for a bit of craic :hugs:

Sounds good to me.

Good point. Let's plan it for when the current goat finishes and before the next goat starts.

I only need 5 pounds which I probably really have put on since I put in my weight. Or at least I will be after tomorrow's thanksgiving dinner. Because it is a holiday over here I will get to ride in the big "EPIC RIDE." I better start carbo loading right now.

Sounds good to me as it gets very lonely watching everyone disappear within 30 seconds of the start. I also like the idea of losing over 30 kg,

I think as long as everyone puts their weight back to exactly what it was, then there should be no problem. I've tried that once before during a test and it wasn't a problem for the weight parameter for the league I was in.

I was thinking (I know, not always a good thing) ... but could we do an handicap race somehow? I was thinking something like, setting all our power, artificially, to say 3watts per kilo weight.
Am I talking rubbish? Or do I have a kind of plan? Anyone else up for it? We'd have to password the ride to stop others joining who haven't been handicapped :pump:

That will be an invitation for some to get a heart attack at the end of the race!. All of you guys with the Bkool trainer should arrive together and some will want to push a little harder at the end.... carnage! :hyper: . Unfortunately it won't level the field for the other trainers because I usually throw 3-3.1 watts/Kg and I seem to arrive behind riders pumping 2.4-2.5 due to the downhills issue. For me it is not that much about levelling the players because I am always going to find rivals to ride with or compete against depending on how hard I want to go that day... it is all about levelling our behaviour in terms of speed so it is consistent along the terrain.

A good question, and not one that has been formalised . @JLaw set up the group for us slower riders, but as most of us are on the wrong side of the weight scale, so maybe a BMI based guide might be a help? I think I worked out my BMI to be 28+ the other day, so maybe 25+ is a guide for a Moose? Certainly puts the rider in the overweight category

The goats appear to be lightweights who I just don't think enjoy the finer things in life like us Mooses (things like pies, burgers and real ale ) - I hear Goats eat mostly salad and plain chicken :giggle:

Hi
I joined the bkool group which shows on bkool website under my groups but I cannot see any way to join sessions. The calendar does not show any and the bkool reply syas the group must not be running any sessions yet the comments in the forum indicate otherwise.
Can anyone explain what I am missing and what I need to do to join some sessions.
Thanks
Alan

Not something I am going to lose a huge amount of sleep over but if any of you use Strava have you ever had a problem with rides not coming across from Bkool? Usually they appear within seconds but a ride I did last night didn't transfer. Just curious really.

Thursday @ 7pm - EPIC RIDE!!

In 24 hours hopefully a good number of us will be in the middle of the big finale of the chaingang November league.

7pm warm up start with race beginning 7:10.

Course is named: Challenge Paguera-Mallorca
If you don't see it search for rick in the advanced search function at bottom of page.
Do you guys have the allow voice chat option selected? Have always had this turned off with the realisation that the sounds coming out of me whilst I struggle up hills are not what I want to share with such a delicate and select group of people.
