A couple of questions if anyone can help?

I have set up a couple of courses as favourites for my wife to ride. She likes to ride with the live video view. First time I did it, I set up some ghost bots, but there was an annoying big yellow thing right in front of her view the whole way, which was a bit annoying, and I assumed this was how a ghost bot looks on the live video view? So I set up a new one last night with no ghosts at all, and the same annoying yellow symbol was there - any idea what I need to do to get rid of this?

Also, whenever I've done a ride before, I have the profile along the bottom which gradually goes blue as I progress, so you can see what terrain is coming up. With the rides I've set up for my wife to do, there's instead a row of white bars like a bar chart along the bottom instead of the profile. I can get rid of this with the up/down keys but not get the terrain view that I normally see - again, any idea why?

Many thanks for any advice

It sounds like you set-up the session based on time not distance. When you setup a session for a certain amount of time, rather than distance, this row of bars is shown along the bottom. You may prefer to change it to a session by distance.

Also, you should be able to set-up the session to remove any ghosts or bots, or use the settings to go into solo mode so no-one can join her on the ride, then the video should be unaffected.

You guys will be glad that the next ride is a pretty flat 10 mile time trial then! :wahhey:

To be honest I think everyone will be glad to see the back of that ride! ^_^ Well done guys for sticking with it the way you did.

On no, I've just noticed Stage 2 is a 2 lap race. That will likely mean I'll have to suffer you lot disappearing off into the distance TWICE - once is not a pretty site.

Interesting I just had an email from Bkool offering me 10% off a years subscription a couple of hours after turning off my auto renew. The fact that you can extend your membership up to 3 months if you don't use it on any month from the 1-31 means I could take the offer and not use it till the new year when I get a new computer sorted, I'll have to think about it, not so sure after all the problems.

Just looked at it myself. Could possibly do ok on this one. Just wondering if the local fire brigade of Pugh,Pugh,Barney McGrew,Cuthbert,Dibble and Grubb are going to show up for local crowd control duties. They're just up the road.

Edit: Sorry misread the map.

LIVING THE DREAM
evening guys...I am a newbie to the forum and bkool. I am Roleur1 on bkool and have just asked to join the cyclechat group. I have a white classic trainer two weeks old/brand new demo from I-ride. It prompted me for a software update when I first connected it which completed successfully. My pc is shagged and I am having to run the sim from an old XP pro laptop which appears to work but the watt count is stupidly high - I am hoping the laptop is the cause of the poor running as it doesnt meet the minimum specs. I did one of the T of B stages which seemed accurate on watts at about 270 but I can max the watts out pretty much constantly...my ride tonight gave me over 12w/kg ... clearly way better than Froomey so Team Sky will be knocking pretty soon!..I should get my repaired laptop back tomorrow so hopefully the rediculous watt count should improve.
Still getting to grips with the whole thing - can I join you online and clearly have some reading and comprehension to get over.
I am a turbo nut...I am on it about five times a week. my old tacx cycletrack fan turbo from back in the day wore out and has been replaced by the Bkool, - I hope I havent cocked up by saving a few quid on the classic instead of getting the pro. great deal direct from Iride - literally half the cost.
Anyway - hope to see you online.

Hi Mark I spotted your Mega Watts when you stuffed my time on a ToB session, in fact I even pointed out to Bill S.
It is pretty important that your PC meets the required specs but I am not sure how not doing so will impact your watts in the way that is apparent as BKool/BSim does not actually measure Watts more its calculated it from resitance set, based on weight and gradient, and your speed which in turn has an impact on the resistance set.
So if you are hitting big Watts with an associated high speed then your turbo may not be working corrrectly, i.e. it is not increading the resitance, however if your speed does not match your watts that is a little more fishy. I have read something somewhere about something not being done correctly on first use that was causing some problems. I'll have a look around to see if I can find the article again,

Just a quick question - When I look at the Ranking tab for a particular ride on the Bkool site I see the list of all past participants timings. There is a Group column and I see that most of you have one of this forums Groups listed against your names - be it Chain Gang, Mountain Goats/Mooses or plain Bkool.

What do I need to do to become one of the gang - is there an 'initiation' test I have to complete

Similarly. No group attached to my name. Always assumed it was another bkool website glitch. Still strange though.
