I was watching you guys - was fun as a spectator  First I thought @BILL S was going to catch @bobinski , then when he was held off it was exciting to see you chasing @BILL S down. I switched to watch Bill and to get back past you @bridgy he was pushing 400+ watts :notworthy: Was pretty spectacular to watch the power go and (maybe you didn't enjoy it as much as I did though )

Well done guys!
Well done everyone on the race tonight - that was an awful lot of effort to go 45 seconds quicker than Thursday! Mainly due to the motivation of catching and passing Bill - only for him to pass me again like I was going backwards! It was good while it lasted though!

When I finally gave up all hope of catching Bob it occurred to me that I could relax a bit and as I did I saw that you were catching me and we'd be level a few minutes before the end. I then though it might be fun  to have a bit of a race near the end as I would be quite well rested by then and you'd be very tired having fought to catch up. Not a very equal race of course but I thought it would make things more interesting for us and those watching.

Thanks for the encouragement Smithy and Whorty. It helped but not enough to catch Bob (this time ;))
I really thought you had @bobinski on that last climb ... you went from 5 mins back to 2 1/2 mins in no time at all. then he just seemed to find his second wind. was quite exciting from on my sofa LOL The power you put on when @bridgy went past you, to catch him up was spectacular! I can only imagine the pain you was feeling

That's was hard, kept looking back and seeing you and Bill bearing down on me. I had not ridden since Tuesday so knew I was rested and also I knew I had to have a bit of a lead before the lump. Then the time distance began to drop and I had to dig deep, spurred on by a message saying Bill was giving chase and you pretty close behind. It was only only when I got to about 3km from the end that I felt I could ease off. Phew! Sadly, Missed the tussle between you and Bill at the end.
Well done all.
That was me @bobinski - he started to catch you really quickly, I thought you needed a nudge ha ha ... it worked :okay:

Yes I did get the impression at the time you were toying with me! You're right, I gave it everything I had to catch you on the climb and had nothing left to respond when you went back past me. Definitely made me dig deep though and that's the great thing about these races!

Well done Whorty (or ghost of Whorty) you helped me this afternoon to run the chain gang section. I picked on you as I know you are quicker up hills so spent the flatish section at the start trying to get away from you. Your ghost scared me at the end by taking a big chunk of time out of me but a really helpful motivation having you chasing me down.

Never ever going to do that ride again though!

Having a sweaty me chase you up a hill is always an incentive to ride quicker

It's all good Bridgy. I've toyed on and off with Bob for the past year but now I can't because of the finely honer racer that he's become. :bicycle::training::ninja::popcorn:

How accurately does the bkool trainer replicate a hill?

I mean if I ride say alpe d'huez, how well does it match the effort required to ride it in real life?

. I recently posted about a ride I did in the Pyrenees climbing Col de la Pierre Saint Martin, which I did on the trainer last Sunday I think it was, if you look at page 610 on this thread its there with the detail of what I thought compared to real life post no 9146. I have a Tacx Bushido trainer. Have a look it will give you an idea. There's a post by Bob a little further on that seconds my thoughts from Bobinski who I believe uses the Bkool Pro trainer
