Spent the whole ride this afternoon in a mild panic you were going to rush past me again. Very pleased to see you didn't get a lift with the Tesco van today.
There was no chance i was going to catch u i was about 2 minutes down by half way. i think the tesco van broke down

I feel a bit of a cheet though beecause I have posted this time out of live competition so I would be happy to be relegated to my previous time.
I must admit though that having the 'hounds' in front and then behind me was a real incentive, especially 3/4 way through when the gap was closing, but as they were only ghost they could not react to my challenge so appologies again for doing this blind.
No rule against that, in fact many of us do it frequently if we were not happy with our first performance. Also, I doubt that the outcome would have been much different.

Just completed the latest Goats stage - I fear that I have given the goats a target to draft during the first half and then leave me in their wake for the hill. :secret:

Think I went too hard on the downhill just to try and open a gap - then died when gravity attacked me.

Thanks Rick. Much appreciated^_^. I would have a go this evening but I'm still determined to have another go at this weeks chaingang. If I can't improve my 7th place I think i'll just have to accept the new order of things .

edit: As per LB's post above

Good man Rick. Its never nice being one of the first to attempt the stage with no one's ghost for inspiration. I felt like that last week on Toaster.

Just got the "you have been challenged and beaten" e-mail. So the new order of things is you in 2nd. Well done :notworthy:.

Thanks Lars. I didn't get much drafting in but it was very useful to know where everyone was. I had trouble getting the session to show when I challenged you, which I tried numerous times, so I challenged AAAC and he had added 22 ghosts to his session so I had the full field to race against. I got a decent lead on you and Bob but towards the end you were pulling me in fast. Very fast and I had to sprint to the line to hold you off. I managed to slingshot past AAAC a few times but that was one race I would never win the speed he passed me on any steady gradient.
Utterly exhausted afterwards but did better than I expected.

Good ride Sir!
I got a beaten by 4:15 by BillS and I thought what the heck but that must have been my first shot.
I see you saw the pressure towards the end posed by Boblinski and LBHIFI as well.
Noted your point on passing me a few times. I have looked back at my stats and dispite 'moaning' about the 'Pro Slingshot' I appear to be descending like a rock compared to most of you guys but we a much the same weight which, in my view, is driven by weight and it can be quite a considerable difference.
Before I noticed the 'advantage' weight can have I thought running a handicap would be good where you all started at the same weight and the more you won the more weight you were given but it is not totally disadvantages.

PS I didn't add any ghost they were just there when I ran the second time but my first ride was almost solo.

Thanks Bob & AAAC.
Funny that : The got beaten by 4:15 which was obviously not the case on your 1st ride either. A much lesser amount I'm sure, but the figure they quote is always wrong I think.
I certainly did feel the pressure as Bob and LB started hauling me in and if the ride were a couple of minutes longer I'd have been toast. I actually thought I'd been taken on the line but the figures showed differently. AAAC you were very fast everywhere from what I could see but lacked the slingshot. It was surprising how quick you usually caught back up each time.
We've also talked here about running a handicap league where we'd all be the same weight. I think it'd work well as long as we remembered to change our weights back again afterwards. If someone wants to start it, I'm in.
You did your ride from a session that Rick had started with ghosts hence why they were all attached to your ride :okay:

I was worried that Bob would catch me at the end, so I had about a minute there with +500 watt:heat:.

Ha! I doubt I would have got near you LB but it didn't help when Sean blasted past as if I wasn't moving. Ashamed to say I kind of gave up. Took me a few seconds to recover from the shock and dismay and then I thought I had a 1.5km more and began to spin up for a full on attack only for the finish to suddenly appear. No shame in loosing to a minute at +500 watts

Can you please do a quick 1 minute or so ride up the 1st mountain goat league stage Bealach Beag 1/4. I need this because I accidentally deleted your attempt from the league results. As short and slow as you like just so I can use it to re-instate your time back in the results. From your home page your time looks to be 23:34. If this is not your actual time please let me know what it is. Thanks.
