Rob, I think you just had a lucky ride and by some bkool quirk you were able to do the ride quicker than usual. Quite a large wormhole perhaps. Your rides are normally consistent and as expected so as far as admin is concerned the ride is fine. Something you could check before you do the next league ride is that the "slope reduction" is set to zero and the wind is turned off. It is possible that these settings could accidentally be moved from the standard setting of zero. Most of the time of that ride is the up-hill slope so I don't think your on-off riding style will have made any difference to the time taken. I tend to do the same on the down-hills too.
Having seen you in action Al I can't understand how I have ever beaten you on the flat let alone up a hill. You just took 2 minutes out of me up Coll de Bracons but I'm happy with that considering the power difference.
As for Gareth, maybe you can ask him if he'll come back and race the league and we can see if there is still an anomaly in the ride stats.

Where are these Slope reduction and wind settings located? I obviously have no intention of ever using them () but I've never noticed them in the settings and wouldn't know where to find them - or how to check if they were inadvertently turned on? Also, surely if slope reduction was used it ought to show in the "details" of the ride??
checked setting all ok, went and done the Hindeloopen 16 miles flat normalized 161 watt time 41.16 avg speed 23.6 mph
cadence hr speed all seam about right but the watts seam low I would have expect around 200 on a course like that and 220 on a climb that's going of previous ride of about 3 to 4 weeks ago and knowing my ability
These are located in bsim under SETUP in the same place as you go to switch on and off ghosts and bots. I don't see the point in the slope reduction option or wind as the drag built in for air resistance is already there (and you can feel the wind from your fan). We have seen the result of slope reduction before when a rider accidentally had it at 50% or something like that in a league run and he pretty much destroyed everyone else in the race. He apologised for it when he realised what had happened
.
And you are definitely correct that these should show up in the ride details.
I can't see those options at all? Do you mean within the www.bkool.com website where you set up a ride in advance?
I also see no point at all in them and can't understand the logic of making them av available - but I'm just curious now as to why I can't find them!
They are in the Bsim software. When selecting a ride, click on Details rather than Start. Then you'll see an option for set-up with the functions Bill refers too. I think it's set now that if you use slope reduction it doesnt count that ride towards league tables. At least I thought I'd read that somewhere. Not sure if Real Weather has the same effect.I can't see those options at all? Do you mean within the www.bkool.com website where you set up a ride in advance?

Just had a look at your listing there Bert - No mention of it as a league run so its a case of either redoing it or else if you dont fancy that do a few seconds and save it, then I'll make your time up to what you achieved on that run.
That brings me happy memories of the bkool summer cup where many of the big names were out to play. Looks like your time is realistic and you are 45th in the overall rankings. Not at all shabby considering how many did the ride in the summer cup.
Thanks BillJust had a look at your listing there Bert - No mention of it as a league run so its a case of either redoing it or else if you dont fancy that do a few seconds and save it, then I'll make your time up to what you achieved on that run.League rides always have a cup symbol beside them on your scheduled rides listing so make sure its got the symbol before riding.
No, not bkool.com but bsim, which is where you go to start your ride. I can't remember exactly how, but you go into ride setup once you've picked your ride from the Leagues or Programmed tabs, and there you can adjust some settings before you enter the ride. A quick play around with it and you'll find it easily.
No probs Bert. Be good to have you join us! Always more fun when there's a big group in a live race. Thanks Bill
I'm going to try and get home in time tomorrow and join you guys, at least for the first km!!
Still finding my way around the bkool thing.
Cheers anyway
Yep, thats about the height of it. I turn it off in the evenings as it seems pointless riding in a dark 3d world!Aha - found it! Thanks Bill and Rick.
Never clicked on that before (and probably never will again!). I currently have "actual atmospheric conditions" ticked - I assume that just means it shows as night/day, sunny/raining etc but doesn't affect actual performance in any way?
