I rode the route the other day, and I can confirm it is a wall! Goes from virtually flat to 10% instantly if I remember correctly!

It is beautiful scenery when you do the climb in video mode though - but you won't even get to enjoy that during the race!

I am often accused of being in a world of my own Geoff would much rather have been there...

Just been looking at overall times and In fact this is a great course coz Bill aside vast majority are within minutes of each other. The way people improve there is and has been lots of room for moving up and down the ratings. They never quite match the trials and tribulations of a handicap race though

Actually managed to hold a connection for the first time in these live races, which I think helped push me on, although Adski and Rod loomed large in my wing mirrors and then whizzed past...

I wore white bibs tonight, thinking that only the boldest of riders would dare to face the sight of a pair of see-through lycras from behind, but alas, my plan didn't work. Guy & Bill quickly caught me and laughed at my feeble attempt to demoralize them as they passed me .

Just seen your ride bridgy, very flat with 1 mile brutal climb at the end! according to bkool it has 20%. is that a spike or lengthy bit?

Great race and great handicapping again Geoff with all those close finishes. I was going to say can you give Bill an extra 20 seconds so I can hold him off next time, but knowing him he'll just find a way of going faster again! Great time Bill

I felt that one, but had a good battle with BenH over the last couple of miles - I just couldn't hold on as Ben pipped me on the line.

The only 20% bit I remember is right at the very end - literally the last few feet so not noticeable

Any ideas why I didn't get the option to select No when joining the race? I did last time but not this time or the first. It is not a big problem but causes a frantic scrabble to get reloaded before starting. Maybe it is caused by an internet freeze.

Same thing happened to me.
