Sorry, rant over!
But a worthy rant. They are fools unto themselves not employing Geoff's services, even as a freelance, to help them sort their sh*t out. You getting this @Bkool ?

Bridgy, you and Adds are both right. I would like to see bkool receptive in a way that Zwift seem to be so that we shouldn't have to even talk about making rule changes to reflect the strange ways different turbos operate within BSIM. Perhaps they don't have the resources even if they are interested. I fear they are not interested. Perhaps we should deluge them with emails saying " better call Geoff"!

Can I just say, before we expend any more emotional energy on this, that I am touched by your offers to pay for a subscription, but I could not possibly accept, not because I am "British" but because I am allergic to commitment and do not want to feel any obligation to keep doing the leagues! :stop:

As for helping Bkool work out the bugs, I think I would love that!

The best job I ever had was when a small software company, who's software I had been using, then hired me, and my first task was to fix all the bugs I had reported before they hired me! I think most software people prefer writing new code, but I am much happier fixing and improving existing code! ^_^

I think I should also add that I think that the bkool software is pretty impressive, and they clearly have some very clever people on board. It could definitely do with some time spent on identifying and eradicating bugs and tightened change control. These things are expensive, but as I was taught, it is much cheaper to get it right than to have to correct it later.

Now, back to the cycling, I'll be posting a first stab at handicaps for the new stage, so you can all prepare your horrified responses...

Dammit lost my usually rock solid connection at 40 mins everything else working in the background but live Bkool died. Finished it blind which was a bit sad. Was going so well up to there @Goldwolfie

All noted Geoff,
Except I am not sure we were expecting a commitment just wanting to say thanks and to ensure you were not out of pocket.
I am already anticipating my own horrified response^_^

On the bkool software front it is more impressive in lots of ways than anything out there. But the user experience is poor and there is as you know an overwhelming sense they don't listen. They are not the only club in town and the cost of entry allied to that frustrating user experience when compared to say Zwift is what will eventually kill it. I have never been kicked out of Zwift nor lost a ride. Even when there have been over a 1000 users on the road. When I go on bkool I have to ask the family not to access the internet over wifi or Ethernet as rides are more likely to fail if they do. I don't have to bother in Zwift. Oh, I am beginning a Bridgy style rant!

It' s very tricky to set Handicaps for a stage that so few have ridden, so I suspect some may be a far bit out and someone may win by miles, but it should tighten up a lot after one run.

I suspected this Geoff and in your position I'd feel exactly the same. When you're not taking part it's hard to commit to running a league, especially one as complicated as the handicap races.
Hopefully we'll arrange something to keep this league running as its a good one .

There were some weird graphics going on. It looked like both of had decided to turn around and cycle dowhill, only to change your mind again and turn again

I was definitely up for the turn around and go back downhill bit, can't imagine I would have turned around again to go back up though given the chance
