Soarer I'm truly sorry mate! Long week so far...

I was trying to say that like Frankenstein's monster, I couldn't shake you off. I wasn't trying to make a gag about your appearance, which for the record is nothing like said monster, but I think that's the way it's come off... if we ever meet in person you'll see I'm in no position to comment! I'm going to stop digging myself deeper in now... :shy:
Hahaha not a problem at all I genuinely am about as unoffendable as it is possible to be.

I do however feel an even more apt analogy for me stalking you was perhaps

"Like a fat kid chasing an ice cream van"

Bob, don't tell me you're still using mtn bike shoes and cleats. Those are great for commuting but you really need proper road race shoes and cleats for this game. And don't worry about having to bridge the gap next time because my start time is 15 seconds behind yours so it's me who has to bridge the gap. In theory, if I can catch you (and that's a big if) we'll have a better chance to haul in the others if we work together.
As for the warming up, thanks for the tip. Nothing elaborate for me though, just a steady 200-250 watts uphill for half an hour seems to work fine.
What??? Next you are going to tell me using my mountain bike as well as my mtb shoes on the turbo is making a difference

I was only joking Tommy when I said it was a bit harsh. I've managed to work out that Soarer is pretty thick skinned, (although I am giving him the benefit of the doubt when I say it's 'skin'). If anything I think you were a bit lenient with your metaphor....or simile.....or whatever it was!

I just use flip flops and run on the the Turbo like a mini tread mill !
Flip flops, I dream of flip flops when I am running on the mini treadmill in my bare feet with drawing pins thrown all over it.

Randy I suspect flip flops and drawing pins will necessitate a Google search.

I was thinking the same thing WRT the shoes. Then pondered if a road shoe would be more aerodynamic in the context of a spinning crank than a mtb shoe. Then realized I've got far more important things to ponder...

I do want to run my mtn bike on the turbo for the lower gears. Apparently wahoo has a thru axle adapter now, so I need to get that ordered.

I'm using my commute bike on Bkool. I only use the thoroughbred race bike one the road and only when the weather is fine.
I tend to avg. about 1.3 mph faster on the race bike, but my guess is that 90% of that is due to better position and better wheels.

The differences are much less of course on the turbo. I think the gears and the comfort can help but of course its the tyres that really count on the turbo.
