I'll have to see if my wife will let me stream it tonight. I forgot about that scene.
Just so you don't think I am a complete waste at work. I'm calibrating ( as in I pushed a button and am watching the machine calibrate itself.
Now that sounds like the job for me! Let me know if there's ever an opening for an assistant button pusher. Although the commute could be a killer!

Nothing elaborate:rolleyes: just a steady 200-250. In a warm up...

You are most certainly right about pedal and shoes.I have been contemplating changing this past year or so. Looks like speedplays for me. Problem is finding wide enough fitting shoes for my flat over pronating hobbit feet. Hardly anyone sticks wide fitting so have to buy on spec. Still, got to be worth a few watts especially on climbs.

Oh, and I am pretty sure you were faster than me by a greater margin. I assume Geoff has averaged things out so will be trickier to keep you at bay. Might even be better to "let" you catch me earlier, save some energy and draft like diddly.

I use the speed plays but the cleats are extremely stiff at first took ages to loosen up but clip in lovely now.

As with regards to the shoes im like you in that i have wide feet, i use shimano R171 shoes and there very comfy.

Don't think I'm going to make the live Chaingang tonight - a clash with parent's evening unfortunately. I might manage to do it later in the evening so I'll be looking in with interest to see how it goes because I've just seen the profile and it looks BRUTAL

I wish I could generate those numbers for sustained periods in a ride, let alone a warm up .

I have the same problem. Wiggle do a free returns system. I ordered the wide Shimano shoes from them as well as normal width. Try these

The normal width went back

I might try and do it at around 8ish if you (and anyone else who can't make it at 7) want to join me then?

These are what I use and they're very comfortable for wide feet. Also light, stiff and hard wearing.
I am using R088WE's and their MTB equivalents M088LE, both size euro 49 .

All the really good shoes are either not available big enough or have no wide fitting (that is including Shimano higher end offerings) :cursing:

you all need skinny feet so you can fit in some really nice specialized sworks shoes, very light with lovely carbon soles which are very very stiff

I'm getting really jealous now.

Firstly, Bill mentioned having 2 bikes, one for outside and one for indoors with different tyres.

Then, there is all this talk about cycle shoes and cleaty thingies.

I've only got the one bike, and what's even worse I've only got one pair of shoes which I use for work, cycling and going to the footie.

I had to have a lie down last night, having spent £20 on a new tyre - but hopefully I'll be on the grid tonight, in envy of the flashy footware.
