I never get the blue numbers when I'm cycling uphill. How and when do you get them?

I have never seen them uphill before. If I increased cadence over 60ish to increase speed and a over 12-14km depending on gradient it went blue. 1st time I tried to ride through in hope would go white but didn't so backed off and went white. Happened 4-5 times. Seemed easier on legs but not the lungs.

Wow! That was tough. Well done Adam. Kicked my 4ss and went pro1
I thought AAAC was flat out but I realised I was wrong when I slipped into stealth and then uncloaked further up the mountain only to find him 30 seconds ahead.
I realised I had the option to bail at 30 mins but with only 8 more minutes to go it seemed much better to keep going and not have to do it again flat out. Anyway, turns out the average watts were continuing to rise anyway due to the low wattage start so it was all good .
Rick. You are a legend at picking Chaingang rides.:notworthy:

Well I deleted my ride because I felt that I 'gamed' the session to.
For the whole ride I was holding my dongle hard up against my device.
I found the ride got harder the more I held it so but releasing my grip a bit I was able to go much faster all the way to the end .

More seriously I have manually paired my Trainer and not my cadence sensor because my Trainer was showing as being the Cadence Sensor manufacturer on the leader board. Strangely enough I found it easier to manipulate the blue numbers and was able to jump across to Adds after I thought Bill had left the session (as an FTP fix). Sorry about that Bill as I was trying to drag you back to Adds as that was actually harder going than riding my own pace. At one point we were down to less than 30 seconds and gaining.

Anyway now I will have to do it all again

Mmm, so I guess my low cadence didn't trigger it.

Btw Bill, I kept my tyre at 125psi for that one, and didn't get any slippage. I think I have subconsciously figured a standing position that keeps enough pressure on the roller. I also have my industrial riser too.

I was seriously impressed at the speed with which you made up the deficit between us. I expected you guys to start closing me down as I was completely cooked, and had every intention of bailing at 30 minutes.

Well done mate :okay:

And well done Bill and Adam on the power ups. 3 big efforts.
And lots more coins for our team kits! Shall we scoot up it again Tommy, and get more coinage?

Yeah, it depends on the tyre. Mine at full psi would have slipped all the way up there. I think my tacx trainer tyre would be good for that, but it's only good up hills. I tried standing up just the once but the power dropped so gave up on that. I raised the front by about 3" and I think it helped. I'd drop it back down for a typical chaingang ride though.

You know me, I stood up the whole way! Actually I did sit down to spin up on that little decline about a mile in, which is where I got all my lead from I think, caught it just right.

I wondered what happened to your ride as I was interested to compare the power figures. Looks like everyone's w/kg is way up on that ride so worth saving it in the favorites for future ftp's.
I can't say I understand your dongle situation. So you got the blue numbers too AAAC? Did you find that if you spun it up you could get a higher than realistic speed which would keep going even when you dropped off the power?
The thought of doing it again isn't much fun but as usual I'll have forgotten the pain by Saturday.
0.8 watts more and I'd go a level higher but can't see that happening.
