Bill, sorry I couldn't stay with you earlier. The pace is just too fast. I was averaging 47.5kph at 450+ w for stretches and at 120 cadence. There is no way I can hold that. Managed to get under 50min so happy with that. Well, now I want to get under 49min but I would need a draft. Gets so hot at these speeds in the loft though so perhaps one for the winter.
Looked like you and AAAC having quite a battle till he pulled away.

Rather soul destroying to watch you big boys pull away but gratifying that I didn't let anyone who wasn't cyclechat pass me. You were leaving the hill at the end as I was joining it and was quite enjoyable watching the tooing and froing of your times before the hill.

@gbrown I was amateur 6 before it gave me this totally fictitious Active rating that I don't deserve, seem to be able to manage about 230 watts for half an hour and am 93kg

warming down
should not have done that
the between area is killing me
bill could not work out your tactics so i went for it as it was my race to loose
waited for you at one point but it was not working for me
sorry everyone for that embarrasing sling shot at the start
my speed just would not drop below 50kph so i litteraly stopped pedaling

I had no tactics tonight AAAC. Just tried to stay with you as long as I could, but was feeling weaker tonight than Thursday. I haven't checked out the race times yet but the flat felt a fair bit slower today but for me the hill felt quicker. I rode with 30 psi less today but still had to stop at the hill to let more air out as my tyre was just making slipping noises. It really is just suited to the flat (continental ultra sport). I was well aware that I was a bit too slow for you but also that you were trying to drag me along with you, but you were also after a quick time, so I was happy to let you shoot off ahead. Towards the end I was just wanting a good rest before the hill as I was feeling exhausted by then having tried to keep up for so long.

Bob, you did at one point drag me back to AAAC so thanks for that. I stayed in your draft and you gave me a pretty good tow, but unfortunately you didn't stay with us. Then I guess you got your second wind around about the time I was suffering and needing a rest before the hill so you flew past which I was quite happy with as I knew the hill would probably turn things back in my favour having had a rest. The slingshot I got at the bottom was massive and I think that gave me about 30 seconds on you, which was even enough for me to stop, let some air out of my tyre, and get back on and still be ahead.
But yeah, rather hot in these lofts, and I can't imagine how hot it must have been for you without air con. I'm really glad I got mine even though it's effect is not as good as a properly fitted one.

Your slingshot made me burst out laughing! You gained over a minute. When I saw you had stopped ahead I thought it was out of pity^_^ the last thing I needed was that hill. I would much rather Another 20k on the flat!

I probably only stood up for a few seconds at the start and a little bit in the middle just to give my in between bit a rest.
I was in the saddle for the whole hill and I had 140 psi in my tyre and it didn't slip once.

PS - I remember watching Adds climb the hill on Thursday after I crashed out and at the point near the end where you get a short -9.5% before the last climb I wanted to say sprint down the hill as it will take you up the last but when I got there tonight I just thought 'great a downhill I can have a micro rest', and I did.

Congrats to all who took part in the Spring Sessions. Some seriously good results there. Think I'll be struggling for a top 5 once I get back into again!

Any suggestions for the next chaingang? Open to suggestions as it's quite likely I won't be able to compete again for a while.

Thanks again Rick for another excellent Chaingang league. I think this one was the best yet as it had a bit of everything, or perhaps "a lot of everything" is a better way to describe it. I liked the way the long drafting sessions kept the competition close, but also the suffering in those long up and down sessions was great for the masochist in us all. Excellent mini bonus sprints and long steep session 5 was incredible (wherever did you find that?).
If you are willing to set up another anything like that I'd be most grateful. If you need any help choosing just let us know and I'm sure we can help look for or suggest some. I liked the way this one lasted a bit longer too.
