We could even check out the local bus timetables to sort out the hilly bits - mind there's probably only one a day and never on a Sunday, if I remember right as my mother came from around that area.

You never know, a bit more practice for team White and a good set of lights, we might make it back for closing time - I take it the pubs are now open on Sundays.
erm from last nights "you have been challenged and NOT beaten" email you are getting very much quicker mate:okay: either that or im getting slower,
really struggled on that one last night did get to within 30 secs of you at the top of the last few hills then you just pulled away,

Next week I am off on my annual ride about for a bit for 3 or 4 days. Will be on my bike all day and looking at the state of my various shorts that have been abused over the winter in the garage I better get some new ones.

Recommendations for bib shorts comfortable for a whole day in the saddle for the fatter a*se to reside in?

Thanks

We all became very fond of our 32 tooth rear cog, I can tell you. It was probably my most used gear. My rear cassette is actually a mountain bike one, but it was perfect for this event, and I never change it. But then it is very hilly where I live. Bridgy and I put longer cages on too, to compensate for the wider range and to clear the cassette. But Bill got by with a standard cage, so take your pick!
With regards to Bridgy skipping around like a Morris Dancer at the end, I think he got a lift for the last 20 miles.
I thought that's what the support van was for :okay:

I don't know about the "fatter arse" - although I'm no racing snake myself! - but I've recently got a pair of the DHB Aeron bib shorts from Wiggle and I find them fantastically comfortable - best I've ever worn. Got me through the DD ride unscathed and stayed very comfortable the whole day.

Off to research if a shimano cassette with work with a campag rear derailleur, that is the only way I can get a 32 on.

It is difficult to recommend as what works for me might not work for you. I swear by assos, three pairs now and all very comfy. I have some dhbs but I get chaffing with them, but bridgy likes his.

I love my La Passione bibs. Amazing pad, reportedly same as top price bbs from elsewhere.
You wanna get yourself down the sauna:okay:

Good grief man I have just looked online a couple of hundred quid to stop my knackers sticking to the saddle what do you think I am, made of money?

Good thing I looked at the Assos first the DHB are now looking like a positive bargain.

If I receive aggressive chaffing I will rue this email, my tightwad nature and mostly @bridgy I am quite sure.

Bit scary when 3 of our best mountain goats need a 32:ohmy:

Contrary to Bridgy, I have 2 pairs of the dhb and thought they were pretty good but the pad is too thin for me or at least doesn't provide the support. Also, regular washing has left them beginning to fray. A half way house between them and La Passione are the Louis garneau from Evans so you can try them. I have the summer bibs which are pretty darned cool and comfy in hottest weather but lose out to La P for absolute bottom comfort.

Use some of the "savings" as get some chamois creme.

Re assos, they do free crash repairs, something I have used a couple of times.
