Randy, if you did actually come all the way over for this, I will definitely accommodate you. I'm quite sure Bridgy will understand why he has been relegated to the caravan. Actually, now he's seen it, the prospect probably isn't quite as scary. You are more than welcome to use my home as a base for a week or so if you wish. You will have to sign the non axe murderer disclaimer first of course.
Of course @Add, honoured (non axe-murdering) guests from overseas should definitely take priority. I would be very happy in the caravan, or even in the local campsite with the rest of the rabble if a number of us do make it

Might give this a go on Thursday when I get back to see if a few days of conditioning have improved my legs.

The attached picture gives an impression of the terrain I have been through today steepest I saw (and walked up) was 30%. Lack of a low gear on my CX bike made this seem like a very good idea, luggage making the bike weigh a tonne and cleats made it a really bad idea.

Interesting how much more power Andy managed to produce at the lower weight. I switched the recording back and forth at one point to try and contrast the power figures.

I'll be interested to see that Geoff. Unfortunately my dropbox watching capability here is limited but I'll be watching tomorrow at work.

Well technically a hatchet isn't really an axe. Thank you for the offer. After looking on trip advisor there are some really great places to stay but none mentioned seafood paella. If I do make it across I'll be riding around for a few weeks. I do the credit card /12 pound seat post bag/ hotel and restaurant kind of touring. At this point I have to pay off the card from my ride last month.

Edit: Also right now major knee problems caused by shoveling gravel in my back yard. That's why I haven't been riding.

I would bring something Randy, hatchet or Axe. You have seen the film Misery haven't you?

I was going to give this a go a 18:30/19:00 GMT after I had had another bash at the 2nd bonus sprint.
Got the bonus sprint done, manage to pip Bill's ghost by 10 seconds and my own ghost was only 12 seconds behind Bill, so it was a close run race.
I didn't actually catch you Bill until the very end as you held your quicker start advantage nearly all the way.

Anyway that out of the way I was going to run a rolling rest on a downhill session and then give the handicap session a go but then my rear gear cable snapped right inside the hood leaving about an inch of frayed cable and the barrel stuck as the mechanism was not rotating fully back to the fitting hole.
I ended up taking the whole thing off of the handle bars to get the broken end out and by the time I had refitted it dinner was almost ready.

AAAC. I'm not surprised you caught me at the end as I was dying at that point, and definitely looking at the crossbar. The ride definitely suits you better even though I could get the better start. So I guess that puts us about evens in the standings with 3 more rounds to go. One suits you big time with the uphill and one probably a little better for me with the downhill. The last could go either way as its all those saw tooths which if not too high could be major slingshot territory and give me the advantage. However, even if that is so, I think the next one with the big uphills you will drop me so far I'll not be able to catch up.
Not that Bridgy can be counted out yet either with his mega hill climbing power, and times can still be improved upon as you demonstrated today.

@bridgy well done mate, just received my email. ^_^
Thanks Andy, and sorry about the email ^_^ (had one myself about AAAC beating me today!).

You were really motoring on that ride - I only caught you with about 4 miles to go, and for a while didn't think I would at all. Annoyingly your ghost was just visible about 10 -15 seconds up the road for much of it, but I just couldn't catch up with you for some sneaky drafting!

Geoff, I hadn't spotted that I have topped the Weight handicap by a tiniest of time, but I cant get too excited because AAAC will easily beat this time, besides he develops nearly 100W more than the rest of us and has roughly his own body weight. I shall bask in the knowledge of leading a race:hyper:

Now where is screen dump function before AAAC wakes up and realises he is second place:laugh:

Yeah but watch out for a dark horse my legs are now like steel girders after 3 days of training so this may be my moment.

Cpc are usually fair prices. I still have an account from my electronic repair days. Kipster you know I went for a 3ft diameter fan, it doesn't have the speed of air compared to a high velocity fan, but boy it moves a huge amount of air in comparison

You really need a decent fan at this time of year don't you? I have a very powerful one but still had constant problems with sweat in my eyes last night (). Think I might have to get a John Mcenroe style head sweatband!
